Toy Factory Presents HERE & BEYOND! An Adaptation Of 12 Singapore Stories!

Come July 2018, Toy Factory is proud to present, Here and Beyond, a theatrical adaptation of anthological novel, Here and Beyond, 12 Stories!

Dedicated to creating works that go beyond entertainment, Here and Beyond is a production that celebrates the Singapore spirit, a country whose people are buoyant and hopeful, in the midst of doubt and skepticism.

Directed by Toy Factory's Associate Artistic Director, Stanley Seah, Here & Beyond is a collaborative artistic endeavor to reimagining the source material. It retells the 12 uniquely Singaporean stories through different eyes whilst preserving the literary mastery in its rightful place.

Stories in the book evoke intimacy, comfort and a sense of belonging - familiar places and synergic memories among Singaporeans written in text, adapted onto stage.

The theatrical adaption seeks to retell the anthology of 12 local stories through narrative interpretation from a strong ensemble cast, a theatrical design journey & visual storytelling - whilst largely retaining the literary mastery of each text.

Here & Beyond is shared to every individual, regardless of age or race. In addition to the nostalgic nature of this adaption, each story has unique cultural values and morals, which can be passed down to the younger audience.

Here & Beyond is helmed by a dynamic ensemble cast, with familiar Toy Factory collaborators actress Abby Lai, and highly established bilingual performer Darren Guo. Fellow cast members Timothy Nga and Irfan Kasban will also take on the creative roles of Movement Coach and Shadow Designer respectively. Toy Factory is also excited to be working with new faces Jolene Wong, Tan Rui Shan and Rusydina Afiqah, upon their graduation from LASALLE and NAFA.

The creative team features iconic and familiar collaborators: Led by Director Stanley Seah (Associate Artistic Director, Toy Factory Productions), together with Petrina Dawn Tan as Lighting and Set Designer, Louis Quek as Sound Designer and Tan Jia Hui as Costume Designer.
