Review: HOME, I'M DARLING at Jarrott Productions
by Joni Lorraine - Mar 27, 2024

What did our critic think of HOME, I'M DARLING at Jarrott Productions? Now onstage at Trinity Street Playhouse is Jarrott Productions latest offering to our theatre scene: HOME, I’M DARLING. Winner of the Olivier Award for Best Comedy in 2019, playwright Laura Wade’s HOME I’M DARLING raises questions about the authenticity of nostalgia, the pressures of conforming to traditional gender roles, and the ways in which individuals construct their own identities.

Photo Flash: WHY TORTURE IS WRONG, AND THE PEOPLE WHO LOVE THEM Is Now Open
by Stephi Wild - Nov 16, 2019

The 2019 Christopher Durang Season conclude with the political comedy, Why Torture is Wrong, and the People Who Love Them. Durang turns political humor upside down with this raucous and provocative satire about America's growing homeland 'insecurity.' WHY TORTURE IS WRONG, AND THE PEOPLE WHO LOVE THEM tells the story of a young woman suddenly in crisis: Is her new husband, whom she married when drunk, a terrorist? Or just crazy? Or both? Is her father's hobby of butterfly collecting really a cover for his involvement in a shadow government? Why does her mother enjoy going to the theatre so much? Does she seek mental escape, or is she insane? Honing in on our private terrors both at home and abroad, Durang oddly relieves our fears in this black comedy for an era of yellow, orange and red alerts.

BWW Feature: 9 Shows To See In The Twin Cities Area In 2019
by Brett Burger - Jan 16, 2019

Last year I posted an article on my website about the top 10 shows I was the most excited for that would be in the Twin Cities across the 2018-2019 season. Some of them premiered in 2018 like Mamma Mia at the Ordway and, of course, the traveling production of Hamilton. However, as I look back at the least, a large majority of them are in 2019 and I'm still just as excited to see these productions as I was last year when I posted about them. Below are 9 shows that I can't wait to see in 2019!
