Writers Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Michael Halberstam and Executive Director Kathryn M. Lipuma, opens its 2018/19 season with Qui Nguyen's Vietgone, directed by Lavina Jadhwani, featuring original music and music direction by Gabriel Ruiz and choreography by Tommy Rapley. Vietgone runs August 15 - September 23, 2018 in the Alexandra C. and John D. Nichols Theatre at 325 Tudor Court, Glencoe. The Press Opening is Wednesday, August 22 at 7:30 p.m.
The Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) and Playful Productions have today released brand new production photography and a trailer for the West End transfer of the acclaimed, historical two-part thriller IMPERIUM - I: Conspirator and II: Dictator, running for a limited engagement at London's Gielgud Theatre until 8 September 2018.

This riotous reinterpretation of one of Shakespeare's best loved plays is given a unique and irreverent twist and features original live music. Following the production's hugely successful run at both the Lyric Hammersmith and Royal Exchange Manchester in 2012, the production was revived in 2016 at the Lyric and then toured to Brisbane Festival and Dublin Theatre Festival. This new tour will visit Hull, Clwyd, Southampton, Exeter, Oxford, Doncaster and Cambridge.

On Saturday, July 30, Miami City Ballet welcomed dancers and dance lovers from all over the greater Miami area to Miami Beach to celebrate National Dance Day. Over 100 people gathered in Collins Park for a dance party where they learned the 2016 National Dance Day Routine and performed in a flash mob. DJ Hottpants got the party started and was joined on stage by MC and MCB School instructor Herman Payne, with MCB Dancers and J Marcos, dancer and creator of dance-fitness class Videosync, helping to demonstrate. The Segal Centre for Performing Arts will conclude its record-breaking 2012-2013 theatre season with the world premiere Yiddish musical Tales From Odessa, based on the stories of Isaak Babel, book by Derek Goldman and music & lyrics by Josh 'Socalled' Dolgin. A Dora Wasserman Yiddish Theatre production directed by Audrey Finkelstein, Tales From Odessa runs in the Segal Theatre now through July 7th, 2013; in Yiddish with English and French supertitles. On Monday afternoon, 2012 Tony honoree and MTI Chairman and CEO Freddie Gershon; Rodgers & Hammerstein President and past American Theater Wing Chairman Ted Chapin, SMASH's Krysta Rodriguez and more joined forces in Times Square to celebrate Musicals in our Schools Week. During Musicals in our Schools Week, Monday, March 18 through Monday, March 25, students, educators, industry leaders and community members advocate for the importance of quality arts programs in schools through grassroots efforts like organizing a flash mob, giving a free public performance from a Spring musical or sending a thank you note to an educator via letter, internet, video or kind deed.
Broadway is shining the spotlight on the importance of musical theater programs in schools by endorsing Musicals in our Schools Week happening March 19-23, 2012. Through Musicals in our Schools Week afterschool programs, children's theaters, schools, community theaters, performing arts centers and professional theaters will advocate for educational musical theater locally, nationally and globally. The program will be held annually in the third full week of March in honor of both Stephen Sondheim's and Andrew Lloyd Webber's birthdays (March 22).
