Berkeley Playhouse continues their tenth anniversary season of professional theater for family audiences with the East Bay premiere of the newly enhanced theatrical telling of Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach, featuring new songs from the Oscar® and Tony Award-winning team of Benj Pasek and Justin Paul(Broadway: Dear Evan Hansen, Film: The Greatest Showman, La La Land), and book by award-winning playwright Timothy Allen McDonald (Jim Henson's Emmet Otter, Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka, The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley).

JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH is destined to be a giant hit for families with children and for anyone who enjoys a frivolous flight of imagination. It is visually delicious. It is literally music to your ears. And it is another rock solid production for the OCP.

INTO THE WOODS may be one of the most popular musicals for those skilled in the art of presenting musical theater comedy. So much so that when Cupcake Studios held auditions for the 17 character roles in the show, over 1,000 people submitted online and in person to be in the show at the North Hollywood theater location. So it is no wonder each and every person in the show creates magic when they take the stage! Kudos to Michael Pettenato, the group's Artistic Director who directs and produces this musical extravaganza, for selecting the best of the best to bring such excellence in all aspects of the production.

Yesterday, Wolverhampton Grand Theatre launched a GIANT of a pantomime at Dudley Zoological Gardens with leading man Gareth Gates. The pop-star and musical theatre favourite will be taking the title role in JACK AND THE BEANSTALK which also stars Lisa Riley, Doreen Tipton, Graham Cole, Ian Adams and Adam C Booth at the Grand Theatre from 9 December 2017 - 14 January 2018. The Woodruff School ACE Music Theater Program are currently in tech week for their spring production of James and the Giant Peach JR.

NiCori Studios and Productions presented James and the Giant Peach at the Westminster Arts Center at Bloomfield College last night and BroadwayWorld was there. 

Last week, JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH, the musical opened in NYC for a sold out run at the Baruch Performing Arts Center in NYC. Flat Rock Playhouse and Studio 52 will present a new musical version of Roald Dahl's JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH, Jr. from March 11 through 20 at the Playhouse Downtown. Written in 1961, JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH was the first novel Dahl penned for children before going on to author Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda and many others including the film adaptation of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Young the Giant rocked the iHeartRadio Theater Los Angeles last night with a live performance for the iHeartRadio Live Series. The show, hosted by Alt 98.7's Trey Morgan, featured an intimate Q&A, discussing their new album 'Mind Over Matter.' The event broadcasted live on-air as a 30-minute special on Clear Channel ALT and AAA radio stations, with a 60-minute live video stream online across station websites and iHeartRadio.com. A chance encounter with a magical stranger, a bag filled with mysterious crocodile tongues, and an unexpected accident lead to the creation of the largest peach the world has ever seen! After climbing aboard the giant fruit, James finds himself surrounded by a rag-tag group of friendly insects: Centipede (John Ellingson), Spider (Annie Willis), Earthworm (Sam Burns), Grasshopper (Zero Feeney), and Ladybug (Madeleine Delaplane). Adventure awaits the unlikely crew as James captains the peach across the Atlantic; flying, floating, and rolling away from a life of loneliness and isolation into to a brighter, more hopeful future.
