PCPA Theaterfest will present the American Premiere of My Fairytale, a musical about Hans Christian Andersen directed by Scott Schwartz. My Fairytale began previews in Santa Maria August 12 and will run through August 20 before openning in Solvang's Festival Theater running from August 26 through September 25, 2011. The stars of SILENCE! The Musical, Brent Barrett and Jenn Harris, along with the entire cast headed into Yellow Sound Lab recording studio, NYC to create the original cast recording this past Monday, August 8th. The recording is set to be released by Ghostlight Records in October and finally musical comedy fans outside of New York will be able to enjoy the critically acclaimed score, including such song selections as 'If I Could Smell Her C---' and 'Put the F--king Lotion in the Basket.'

Jaradoa Theater presents Serenade, a new musical, beginning Saturday, December 1 through December 15 at Teatro La Tea (107 Suffolk Street, between Delancey & Rivington). The book and lyrics for Serenade are by Rachel Sheinkin, winner of the 2005 Tony Award for Best Book of a Musical for The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. She also co-authored Off-Broadway's Striking 12, which recently launched a nationwide tour. The kinetic score for Serenade, composed by Nils Olaf Dolven, mixes electronica, pop and classical elements.
