The King and I Revival 2018

The London Palladium and The King and I have welcomed back to the stage Ruthie Ann Miles with a warm embrace. Miles, who was forced to quit performing after a devastating accident earlier in the year, reprises the role of Lady Thiang - the King of Siam's (Ken Watanabe) chief wife - to great acclaim. Whilst the show was still running on Broadway, the part won her multiple awards (including a Tony) and nominations so it's not a surprise that she is stunning in it.

The multiple Tony award-winning Lincoln Center Theater production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's THE KING AND I, currently enjoying huge West End success, will be released in cinemas around the world this fall via Trafalgar Releasing. THE KING AND I: FROM THE PALLADIUM, filmed on stage at the iconic London Palladium, will open in cinemas globally on Thursday, November 29, 2018 with an encore presentation exclusively in the United States on Tuesday, December 4, 2018. It has been confirmed that the current West End production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's timeless classic, The King and I, will be screened in the United Kingdom this winter.

As BroadwayWorld reported yesterday, Tony winner Ruthie Ann Miles returned to the stage on Friday night, following five months of personal tragedy. Miles resumed the role of Lady Thiang in the West End transfer of the Lincoln Center Theatre revival of Rodgers and Hammerstein's THE KING AND I.

The multi Tony Award-winning production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's The King and I has transfered from Broadway to London this month following a critically acclaimed 16 month run at New York's Lincoln Center Theater and an unprecedented continuing record-breaking sold out USA tour.

Following a hit run at New York's Lincoln Center Theater in 2015, Bartlett Sher's production of the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic makes its way to London's West End for a limited run at the London Palladium. Transferring with it is Tony Award nominee Ken Watanabe and Tony Award winner Kelli O'Hara, in the title roles.

Na-Young Jeon is a Dutch-Korean actress and singer. She's played Fantine in Les Miserables in the West End and has been a part of the Miss Saigon UK Tour, and is currently playing Tuptim in The King and I at London Palladium.

On 5 June, BroadwayWorld UK attended a special press rehearsal performance of the West End transfer of the multi-Tony Award-winning production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's The King and I.

BroadwayWorld previously reported that Naoko Mori and Ruthie Ann Miles would share the role of Lady Thiang in the West End production of THE KING AND I. We've just learned no final decision on Ruthie Ann Miles' participation in the production has been made.

An announcement from the West End production states that actress Naoko Mori will share the role of Lady Thiang with Ruthie Ann Miles in the West End transfer of Lincoln Center's revival of THE KING AND I.

The producers of The King and I, which opens at the London Palladium next month, have announced Japanese actress Naoko Mori, who has worked extensively across stage, television and film, will share the role of Lady Thiang.

Dean John-Wilson (who starred in the title role of Disney's original West End production of Aladdin) and Na-Young Jeon (Fantine in Les Miserables in the West End and Gigi in Miss Saigon on world tour) join the West End cast of THE KING AND I as the young lovers, Lun Tha and Tuptim. They will join Tony Award winner and "Broadway musical's undisputed Queen" (Sunday Times) Kelli O'Hara as Anna, Tony and Oscar nominee Ken Watanabe as The King and Tony award-winning Ruthie Ann Miles as Lady Thiang. Rodgers & Hammerstein's multi-award winning musical transfers from Broadway to the London Palladium on 21 June (Press Night 3 July).
