Not Tonight, Benvenuto! 1979

From tonight, May 25, through June 4, Houston Ballet presents the North American Premiere of David Bintley's magical ballet, The Tempest. In celebration of the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death, Mr. Bintley has created a fantastical production based on The Bard's well-known play. Scroll down for a look at the dancers in action!

Every night the maids stage a fantasized revolution against their mistress Madame. Every night they fail miserably. But last night they have taken a step into reality. They have plotted against Monsieur and have gotten him arrested by the police. Family and class wars unfold. 

Piotr Borowski, a student and collaborator of Jerzy Grotowski and co-founder of Gardzienice Theatre, has created a stage adaptation of 'Chasing the King of Hearts' by Hannah Krall. The book is a 2007 bestseller of spiritual survival in the fateless universe of the Holocaust. Borowski's play, 'The King of Hearts is Off Again,' is a memory piece with physical theater that has been presented in California and the Midwest. La MaMa will present present the Kulture+ production of this play, acted by Studium Teatralne, for its East Coast debut tonight, November 26 to 30, 2014. The piece will be performed by actors from Warsaw, where it was developed.'

INTAR presents the first production of its 2014 - '15 season: Teach, Teacher, Teachest by David Koteles, directed by Daniel Irizarry, beginning tonight, September 12th and continuing through October 5th only. Opening Night is set for Thursdsay, September 18th.

Mezzo Soprano Kate Lindsey, a veteran of the Metropolitan Opera, and Michael Spyres, called 'one of today's finest tenors' by French Opera magazine join the Utah Symphony tonight and tomorrow, September 27 and 28 at Abravanel Hall in Hector Berlioz's dramatic interpretation of Goethe's tale of Faust and his fateful deal with the devil, The Damnation of Faust.

The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble presents Warsaw's Studium/Teatralne in the American premiere of an epic new drama about the nightmare of war and the timeless power of human devotion. Piotr Borowski directs The King of Hearts Is Off Again for five performances only, from tonight, October 5 through October 14 at the Odyssey Theatre in West Los Angeles.

In May 1977 three artists--Robin Hirsch, a writer and director; Charles McKenna, an actor; and Raphaela Pivetta, a visual artist--stumbled across a tiny storefront on Cornelia Street in the heart of Greenwich Village and thought it the perfect place to open a café.
