Berkshire Theatre Group (BTG) and Kate Maguire (Artistic Director, CEO) have announced casting for two of its summer 2023 shows: Million Dollar Quartet, a three-time Tony Award–nominated once-in-a-lifetime musical evening back by popular demand with some of the same cast as 2017 and Photograph 51, an intriguing portrait of the race to discover the mysteries of the DNA double helix. 

Florida Studio Theatre (FST) kicks off its 2023 Stage III Series with Babel by Jacqueline Goldfinger, a dark comedy probing the world of modern eugenics. In the play's version of the not-so-distant future, expectant parents learn within the first few weeks of pregnancy which traits their child will have and what behaviors it is likely to exhibit.

Running July 1 through 16 at The Colonial Theatre, the audience will be transported to a bustling Irish pub with a stage full of incredibly talented actors singing and playing their own instruments.

TFANA and Saint Flashlight present The Will of the City, poems inspired by playwright and poet William Shakespeare, launching today and running through the fall. Spotlighting the work of over a dozen writers, this activation will transform the streetside and outdoor screens at Polonsky Shakespeare Center (262 Ashland Place, Brooklyn, NY)—Theatre for a New Audience's home in Fort Greene—into a bi-weekly updated anthology of poems inspired by Shakespeare's plays.

Ford's Theatre today announced the launch of The Lincoln Legacy Commissions—a new play development initiative for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color) playwrights that explores racial history and social justice in the United States and gives voice to lesser-known historical figures and their contributions to American life. Playwrights Pearl Cleage, Rickerby Hinds, Nambi E. Kelley, Dominic Taylor and Charlayne Woodard comprise the inaugural writers of The Lincoln Legacy Commissions.

Playhouse on Park has cast Lauren Gunderson's The Revolutionists, a grand and dream-tweaked comedy about art and activism, feminism and terrorism, violence and legacy, and changing the world. This provocative play runs February 20-March 10; opening night, including a complimentary wine and cheese reception, is set for February 22.

The Santa Barbara Symphony, under the baton of Maestro Nir Kabaretti, will present Gustav Mahler's monumental Symphony No. 6 for the first time in its 64-year history on Saturday, April 21, at the Granada Theatre. An encore performance will take place on Sunday, April 22. Presented without intermission, the concerts will start at 8 pm on April 21 and at 3 pm on April 22. Ukrainian piano virtuoso Alexander Romanovsky, whose extraordinary technique and interpretive acumen have garnered critical plaudits in the United States and Europe, will perform Franz Liszt's incandescent first piano concerto with the Santa Barbara Symphony, under the baton of Maestro Nir Kabaretti, on Saturday, March 24, and Sunday, March 25.

The Santa Barbara Symphony, under the baton of Maestro Nir Kabaretti, will pay tribute to the musical genius of Leonard Bernstein with performances that highlight the breadth of his legacy on Saturday, February 17, and Sunday, February 18. Featuring award-winning soprano Lisa Vroman and singers from the Santa Barbara Choral Society, the concerts will take place at 8 pm on February 17 and at 3 pm on February 18 at the Granada Theatre. The program will include some of Bernstein's best-known works, including melodies from the ballet Fancy Free and his timeless West Side Story, as well as Aaron Copland's Quiet City and the world premiere of a piano concerto by acclaimed Santa Barbara-based composer Robin Frost. The Santa Barbara Symphony, in collaboration with the Santa Barbara Center for the Performing Arts, will present a special family performance of The Carnival of the Animals, Camille Saint-Sa ns' delightful musical suite, at 3 pm on Saturday, November 25, in the Granada Theatre. Classical guitar virtuoso Pablo Sáinz Villegas, whose charismatic stage presence and formidable technique have dazzled audiences throughout much of the world, will headline a pair of concerts at the Granada Theatre and take part in multiple community outreach events as the Santa Barbara Symphony's inaugural artist-in-residence during the 2017-18 season. Mr. Villegas, who captivated local audiences in a pair of electrifying concerts to conclude the Santa Barbara Symphony's 2015-16 season, will rejoin the orchestra for Joaquín Rodrigo's sensuous Concierto de Aranjuez as well as Isaac Albéniz's evocative Souvenirs of Spain at the Granada Theatre on November 18 and 19. He will also perform a solo concert at the Royal Presidio of Santa Barbara on November 16, and present educational programs for area children at The Granada on January 18 and 19. Subscription sales have begun for the Santa Barbara Symphony's 2017-18 season, which will open October 14 with an extraordinary all-Mozart program accentuated by a ballet world premiere. The Muny announced today 21 principal cast members for its 99th season. Full company casting will be announced throughout April. The 2017 Muny season opens with Jesus Christ Superstar followed by Disney's The Little Mermaid and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.
