The Royal Opera House and Britten Pears Arts has announced full casting details for The Rape of Lucretia. This new staging of Benjamin Britten's unsparing chamber opera opens at Snape Maltings, Suffolk as part of its Britten Weekend on 29 and 30 October, before this new production is on stage at the Linbury Theatre, Royal Opera House from 13-22 November.  

This holiday season, Theater at Monmouth brings back a holiday favorite, previously performed in Cumston Hall. This Wonderful Life, with its hilarious and touching message of hope and love, reminds us of the power of perspective, family, and community just in time for the Holidays.

The McKnight Center for the Performing Arts will host the award-winning musical An American in Paris on March 5 at 7:30 p.m. Inspired by the Academy Award-winning film and filled with the music of legendary composers George and Ira Gershwin, An American in Paris transports the audience to post-war Paris, where romance is in the air and youthful optimism reigns.

It was their turn. The talented and charming employees of Feinstein's/54 Below had their moment in the spotlight during their Hallowe'en themed staff show. And the SRO crowd had the time of their lives.

Theater at Monmouth's 50th season concludes with award-winning playwright Steve Murray's hilariously touching adaptation of Frank Capra's, It's a Wonderful Life. Brimming with hope and humor, This Wonderful Life reminds us of the power of perspective, friendship, and family just in time for the holiday season. Ring in the season with family, friends, and neighbors from November 28 through December 8, 2019.

In this spirit, TAM dedicates the 2018 Roar: The Year of the Woman Season to Nancy Bates Ludewig. For the residents of Monmouth that is exactly what "Nance" represented-a force of nature, an iron will, and a tremendous heart. If there was a need, she would fill it; from Neighbors Helping Neighbor's Fuel Fund fundraising events to the Monmouth Healthy Meals Backpack Program, from Mayfair and Garden Club to annual Christmas Shows in Cumston Hall, Nancy brought people together. The board, staff, and artists of Theater at Monmouth express our sincerest gratitude to you, Nancy, for making this little theatre, in this little town a brighter place for all.

The much-anticipated return of WICKED did not fail to generate the buzz and crowd it was expected to. Trumpets ('The Bluebird of Happiness,' 'Joseph the Dreamer') premieres its latest full-length play 'The Horse and His Boy,' which is based on 'Chronicles of Narnia's' fifth fantasy novel of the same name by British novelist C.S. Lewis, on Friday, November 6, at Meralco Theatre in Manila, Philippines.

The play begins as yet another version of A Christmas Carol and takes "a wrong turn in Albuquerque" on the way to a B.H.C. (Beloved Holiday Classic) Smackdown between A Christmas Carol and It's a Wonderful Life. Santy Claus, Rudolph (or in this case Gustav), the Grinch, and just about every other seasonal character makes an appearance in this racy comedy that, according to Kelly Monaghan of TheOtherOrlando, "will have you laughing harder than spiked eggnog."

For 2015 Theater at Monmouth has planned a season of Magic, Murder, and Mayhem! Season 46 peeks into nature of reality and illusion, pokes fun at the foibles and fables of romances young and old, and will prick-up the hairs on the back of your neck. From Shakespeare to Stoppard and Coward to James, the 2015 Season is sure to be a perception-altering ride.
