Alien Ant Farm have released their long awaited, highly anticipated new album ~mAntras~ out now through Megaforce Records. The San Diego-based alternative rock quartet Los Saints has unveiled 'If Everything Goes,' the third single from their highly anticipated debut album 'Certified', slated for release on July 26 via ENCI Records. Following the recording of 'Certified', Los Saints has grown into a four-piece, with the addition of new members, Greg Ortega [bass] and Jorge Vazquez [lead guitarist]. Listen to the single here!

It’s a big season at the Met for tenor Jonathan Tetelman—born in Chile, raised in New Jersey—and he’s taking every advantage of it. He’s come to town with a reputation as a Puccini specialist (not that there’s anything wrong with that). How does he feel about that? “Well, I basically built my voice on Puccini repertoire. I’ve taken it as a gift because he’s a great writer for my voice.” His debut at the Met in March was in LA RONDINE but he’s looking forward to showing off more of his dramatic chops with Pinkerton in MADAMA BUTTERFLY, starting this week, because there’s more 'there' there.

On the heels of the mini-musicals found at Disneyland Paris comes the first ever musical theater style live entertainment from its main European competitor in France (and Europe) Parc Astérix, inspired by the stories of the famous comic book series Asterix by René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo.  This theme park offers a variety of attractions and shows based on historical periods from the world of Asterix and his friends, whimsically celebrating Gaulish culture with over 50 attractions and shows, including roller coasters, water rides, and live performances.  This year, as part of its 35th anniversary celebration, an original musical comedy C’est du délire !, or It’s Madness!, billed as “the first Gallic musical comedy”, began performances on March 30th.

The last blog I wrote about my major, I was pretty confident. I had decided to stop pursuing a major in technical theater, something I found unfulfilling, in favor of multimedia. I felt excited about the new creative opportunities. And yet I still had a lingering feeling of uncertainty.

Disney+ has announced that Let It Be, director Michael Lindsay-Hogg’s original 1970 film about The Beatles, will launch exclusively on Disney+ May 8, 2024. This is the first time the film is available in over 50 years. First released in May 1970 amidst the swirl of The Beatles’ breakup, Let It Be now takes its rightful place in the band’s history.

Alternative rock group The Early November has shared “The Fool”, the second single from their forthcoming Self-Titled album. In tarot, The Fool symbolizes the embrace of new beginnings and the willingness to take risks. Producers Christopher D Clegg and James Drury have had a remarkable journey with Cool Rider, the much-lauded Grease 2 stage adaption. From a supposed ‘one night only show’ back in 2014 at the Lyric Theatre, to record-breaking ticket sales, a flurry of last-minute additional dates, then a return run three months later at the Duchess Theatre…not to mention an original cast recording.

'Unknown Soldier' is a beautifully performed show with a fascinating exploration of memory, love, and loss, but its main flaw is that it is a show seeking out answers to a mystery it not only fails to resolve, but further convolutes at every turn. While there’s truth in that, it’s also a little dissatisfying, as life itself often is.

The world premiere of John Strysik’s Power and Light is currently running in rep at Theatre 40. Jeff G. Rack directs this story of Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla in the beginnings of electricity with the cast of David Hunt Stafford, Eric Keitel, Warren Davis, John Combs, Richard Large, Bailey Castle, Mandy Fason and Kurtis Bedford. Emma Stone is booked and busy! Following her recent Oscar win, the actress is in talks to star in a currently untitled film for Universal. Her husband, Dave McCary, is said to be directing. Stone recently won an Academy Award- her second- for her role as Bella Baxter in Yorgos Lanthimos highly acclaimed 2023 film Poor Things.
