Why? Every time I answer that, I start to feel like the Genie in a?oePrince Alia?? when he's counting all those elephants, peac*cks, and camels. There are a lot of problems here. Maybe not fifty-three or seventy-five or however many Persian monkeys he has, but I can definitely point to at least five things that keep this stage version one jump behind its cinematic counterpart.

Casting has been announced for the Greenville engagement of Disney's Aladdin. The hit Broadway musical will begin performances in Greenville at the Peace Center on Wednesday, Feb. 12 for a limited, two-week engagement through Sunday, Feb. 23.

Disney Theatrical Productions announced today that a newly-configured North American tour of Aladdin is scheduled to launch in Fall 2021, allowing the hit Broadway musical to entertain new audiences in cities and venues which couldn't previously accommodate the production. The anxiously-anticipated arrival of Aladdin is finally here! The national tour stops in Sacramento through June 2 and brings with it the songs that you know and love from the 1992 animated movie, along with new numbers written specifically for the stage musical. After its debut on Broadway in 2014, it was nominated for 5 Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Original Score. Broadway World Sacramento was able to speak with Reggie DeLeon, who originated the role of Iago on the national tour and has returned after a brief hiatus. Reggie is well-known for his recurring role as Shep in the Pup Star films. He can also be seen on 'MOM' (Paul), 'Superior Donuts' (Zale), and 'Melissa & Joey' (Wyatt).

The North American tour of Disney's Aladdin welcomed its two millionth guest, Marcela Bloise, last night on April 18 at The San Jose Center for the Performing Arts, where the hit Broadway musical is playing through Sunday, April 21.

As it approaches its 2nd anniversary, the North American tour of Disney's Aladdin has announced that five new principal cast members will join the company starting on April 25 in Salt Lake City, where the hit Broadway musical will play a limited three-week engagement at The Eccles Theatre through May 12.

Michael James Scott must have known he had some enormous golden slippers to fill when he took over the role of the Genie in the national touring version of DISNEY'S ALADDIN, which will be in Columbus from Oct. 24 to Nov. 4. Not only will Scott be judged against the performance of the late Robin Williams, who masterfully played Genie in the movies, ALADDIN (1992) and ALADDIN AND THE KING OF THIEVES (1996), but he also had to emerge from the big blue shadows of James Monroe Iglehart who won a Tony Award for best performance by a featured actor in the Broadway musical in 2014.

Fifth Third Bank Broadway In Atlanta announced today that it will offer special $30 college student rush tickets for the Atlanta engagement of Disney's ALADDIN, playing at the Fox Theatre from September 12-23 as part of the 2018/2019 season. To purchase tickets, students simply need to bring valid college student identification with them to the Fox Theatre Box Office two hours prior to each performance. The college student rush ticket price will be valid for all performances with a two-ticket limit per student ID. College student rush tickets are subject to availability and will be sold from best available, which may include limited view locations.

Lissa deGuzman will be taking over the role of Jasmine in the North American touring production of Disney's Aladdin beginning Wednesday, August 8 in Buffalo. DeGuzman, who previously understudied the iconic role on tour, succeeds original tour cast member Isabelle McCalla, who will play her final performance as Jasmine on August 5 in Boston at The Boston Opera House.

Disney's Aladdin is celebrating a sold-out, two-week premiere engagement in Cincinnati, which concluded on June 10 at the Aronoff Center. The touring production, which the Cincinnati Enquirer called, "an outright spectacle; glitzy, playful, sassy and extravagant," grossed over $2.8 million at the box office and entertained more than 40,000 theatergoers during 16 performances. 

Disney Theatrical Productions and Shea's Performing Arts Center announced today that tickets for the long-awaited engagement of Disney'sAladdin will go on sale to the public on Friday, June 15 at 10 a.m. The hit Broadway musical will begin performances at Shea's Buffalo Theatre on Wednesday, Aug. 8 for a limited engagement of 12 days through Sunday, Aug. 19. Opening night is Friday, Aug. 10 at 8 p.m., with preview performances of the same production taking place Aug. 8 and 9.

Casting for the upcoming Boston engagement of the long-awaited hit Broadway musical, Disney's Aladdin has been announced. Performances at the Boston Opera House play July 5 - August 5, 2018 as part of the 2017-2018 Lexus Broadway In Boston Season.

The North American tour of Disney's Aladdin celebrates its one-year anniversary today, April 19 in Denver, where the hit Broadway musical is playing The Buell Theatre through April 28, 2018.

Casting has been announced for the Cleveland engagement of Disney's Aladdin.  The hit Broadway musical will begin performances in Cleveland at the KeyBank State Theatre as part of the KeyBank Broadway Series on Wednesday, May 2 for a limited engagement through Sunday, May 27.
