Oskar Eustis, Artistic Director of The Public Theater, has announced the 26-member Broadway cast of HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical. Newcomers to the cast include Gavin Creel, Caissie Levy and Sasha Allen, who join the rest of the tribe, who are reprising their roles from Central Park last summer. Currently in rehearsal at the Union Square Theatre, HAIR begins preview performances on Friday, March 6 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street, NYC) with an Opening Night set for Tuesday, March 31, 2009.

ALLIES, a new rock musical featuring the songs of the legendary band Heart, will be presented in concert version at The Zipper Factory Theater (336 West 37th Street) on Monday, January 26th at 9:00 p.m. Industry and the general public are invited to make reservations on the show's official website at www.alliesthemusical.com.

From the ingenious mind of John Guare, who brought Six Degrees of Separation and The House of Blue Leaves to the American stage, this delicious dark comedy springs to life with twisted humor, rapid-fire dialogue, and outrageous plot twists. The revival script includes significant rewrites to the original text, as well as hilarious songs freshly scribed by Guare himself. In Rich and Famous, playwright Bing Ringling yearns to savor the sweet taste of celebrity, and he's hoping play number 844 will be his lucky break. But on opening night, he slips into a nightmarish phantasmagoria that shows him just how wrong things can go.

This February, THE STORY OF MY LIFE, a new musical comes to Broadway. Starring Will Chase (Rent, Aida, The Full Monty) and Tony Award nominee Malcolm Gets (Amour, Merrily We Roll Along, 'Caroline in the City'), the show is directed by Tony Award winner Richard Maltby, Jr. (Ain't Misbehavin', Song & Dance), THE STORY OF MY LIFE features a score by Neil Bartram and a book by Brian Hill. Performances begin Tuesday, February 3rd on Broadway at The Booth Theatre (222 West 45th Street). Opening night is Thursday, February 19th at 7:30PM.

George Street Playhouse continues their 35th season with the New Jersey premiere of Conor McPherson's Olivier Award-winning and Tony Award-nominated play, The Seafarer.

Eric Schaeffer, the Artistic Director of Signature Theatre, tonight announced that Signature will honor Stephen Sondheim at a Gala Benefit in April and establish an annual award as a tribute to America's most influential contemporary musical theater composer. The Manhattan School of Music's American Musical Theater Ensemble is presenting their first-ever full-length musical, Stephen Sondheim's Into The Woods, with a cast made up of some of the school's most versatile singers. The production will run Thursday May 17, through Saturday May 19, at 7:30p.m. in the School's John C. Borden Auditorium.

Veteran stage, screen and television star John Rubinstein is announced to play The Wizard in the new Los Angeles production of WICKED, which begins performances on February 10, 2007, at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood. Rubinstein joins stars Eden Espinosa and Megan Hilty, who play Elphaba and Glinda, and Carol Kane, who plays Madame Morrible. Kane appeared in the role during the sold out engagement of WICKED at the Pantages Theatre last summer, and then went on to play the part on Broadway.

Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schoenberg's THE PIRATE QUEEN, the spectacular new musical from the authors of Les Miserables and Miss Saigon, will play a pre-Broadway, World Premiere engagement in Chicago from October 3rd through November 26th, 2006.
