The first in a series of film concerts dedicated to the massively successful Harry Potter film franchise is currently making its way around the world, stopping off for a few days at the historic Royal Albert Hall. "War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery and Ignorance is Strength."  Greenway Arts Alliance Presents: George Orwell's 1984, directed by Kate Jopson as the first production of their novel to stage program Greenway Reads. 300 Fairfax High School students are reading the novel and will attend matinee's of the theatrical production. The adaptation by Alan Lyddiard creates an interactive and engaging experience for audience members. Jopson said, "We're trying to create an immersive experience. The elements of the play and its themes are all around us in the real world. We try to emphasize that and as soon as you arrive at the theater there's not anywhere you're not in the set of 1984, even in the lobby and bathrooms."  

A new theory about the design of the universe is set out to challenge some widely accepted views in physics. Move aside Einstein, Hawking - there's a new kid in town. Tom James, author of the book 'God Does Not Play Dice' (published by Xlibris), has produced the first ever written account of how the universe works that is complete, unified and that resolves all the key inconsistencies that show up in other theories. SECRET SPACE ESCAPES premieres on Science Channel tonight, Nov. 10 at 10 PM.

The Old Globe opens its 2015-2016 Season with IN YOUR ARMS, a World Premiere dance-theatre musical featuring direction and choreography by Tony Award winner Christopher Gattelli (Newsies, Godspell, Lincoln Center Theater's The King and I and South Pacific) and original music by Tony Award winner Stephen Flaherty (Ragtime, Once on This Island; two-time Oscar nominee for Anastasia). The production begins tonight, September 16, with an opening slated for September 24, and runs through October 25, 2015.

Among them, the company can claim 18 Tony Awards, 4 Pulitzer Prizes, 6 Pulitzer finalist distinctions, 3 Emmy Awards, and 2 Academy Awards; to list all their honors would take several pages.
