It may only be September, but pantomime season is just around the corner at Oldham Coliseum Theatre. The theatre has lined up a talented cast of familiar faces for this year's famous festive spectacular, Jack and the Beanstalk, who will be putting the extra sparkle into Christmas in Oldham.

Worthing Theatres have announced that Strictly Come Dancing favourite Ian Waite will star as Dandini in their magical family pantomime, Cinderella, at the Pavilion Theatre this Christmas.

Artistic Director Helgi Tomasson and San Francisco Ballet today announced programming for the 2020 Repertory Season. Building on a heritage of commissioning groundbreaking dance from today's top choreographers, uncovering new choreographic talent, staging modern classics, and preserving the works that make up the canon of classic ballet, the 2020 Season places SF Ballet at the forefront of innovation and preeminence. For the fifth installment of its popular A Cinderella Story film franchise, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment and Blue Ribbon Content are breaking out the mistletoe and holly as principal photography commences on A Cinderella Story: Christmas Wish, now filming in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Hackney Empire has announced the return of Olivier Award nominated actress, television star and comedian Tameka Empson (EastEnders, The Big Life, 3 Non Blondes) for its landmark 20th anniversary pantomime from writer and director Susie McKenna in a sparkling new production of Aladdin opening this Christmas. Tameka Empson makes a much-anticipated return to the Hackney stage where she performed regularly between 2004 and 2009 before being cast as Kim Fox-Hubbard in EastEnders. Aladdin will mark her first stage appearance since joining the soap and will see her return to the role of the Empress alongside Hackney Empire's Olivier Award-winning Grande Dame Clive Rowe. Aladdin will run from 24 November 2018 to 6 January 2019, with opening night for press on 5 December.
