Six weeks of enthusiastic fundraising erupted into two extraordinary performances of lighthearted parodies, inspiring calls-to-action and exceptional dance at this year's Red Bucket Follies. The show, which was performed December 9 and 10, 2019, celebrated the 58 Broadway, Off-Broadway and national touring companies that participated in fall fundraising for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

BROADWAY SESSIONS is described as an evening of musical performances, games and open mic featuring a new Broadway cast twice monthly. The show is created and hosted by Ben Cameron (Bway Wicked, Aida, Footloose, Dance Captain Dance Attack web series) and features musical director Joshua Stephen Kartes on piano.

After enchanting Broadway sophisticates with his fizzy entertainments of the 1920s and 30s, Cole Porter went decidedly middle-brow at the start of the next decade with a trio of musicals about average Janes and Joes, all including some swell comical characters serving in the U.S, military.

Pride Films and Plays' annual fall benefit, SIMPLY SENSATIONAL, celebrates theater artists who have had a tremendous impact on all they work with.  This year's event will honor a beloved figure in the Chicago theater scene a?"Robert Ollis, musical director of many shows with Pride Films and Plays, Underscore Theatre Company, Bailiwick Repertory, Bailiwick Chicago, the Casting Auction Players and many other companies and events. Ollis will be the honoree as well as music director of the Company's annual fundraising concert, SIMPLY SENSATIONAL, on Monday, November 4 in The Broadway, Pride Arts Center, 4139 N. Broadway.

Porchlight Revisits Call Me Madam, with book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse and music and lyrics by Irving Berlin stars Donica Lynn as the titular socialite presented for three performances Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 7:30 p.m. and Thursday, Nov. 21 at 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at The Ruth Page Center for the Arts, 1016 N. Producers Justin M. Kiska, Jessica Billones, and Way Off Broadway are teaming up to bring the Post Off-Broadway Regional Theatre Premiere of the new musical comedy The Book of Merman to Frederick for a special engagement this fall. The production will play three performances only at Way Off Broadway, November 15th through the 17th.

Redheads unite! At a clandestine meeting of auburn-haired rebels, a secret organization is taking matters into their own hands, fighting back against their imminent extinction and standing up for the rights of redheads everywhere. The members of the Real Redheaded Revolutionary Evolutionary Defiance (The R.R.R.E.D.) aim to empower and educate their fellow redheads to wake up and mobilize through fundraising, raw emotion, procreation, and song. 

A surprisingly entertaining night of performances was hiding behind the deceptive word 'Poetry' at The Green Room 42 the other night, and this poetry should be seen by many.

Pittsburgh CLO has just announced The 2019-2020 Kara Cabaret Series.  We're ringing in the 15th season of the the CLO Cabaret with the first show we ever performed at this venue a?" FOREVER PLAID a?" the Heavenly Musical Hit! This show is just as perfect a fit for our unique Cabaret space now as it was in our inaugural season. Next up is THE BOOK OF MERMAN , a musical parody mash-up that has us along for the ride when two door-knocking Mormons show up at the door of legendary Broadway diva, Ethel Merman.

Award winning Book Writer/Lyricist, Stephen Cole, Announces The Debut Of Two Musical Theater Creations, 'Merman's Apprentice' written with David Evans; and 'Casper the Friendly Musical, ' written with Matthew Martin Ward.

Robert ('Bob') Ullman (left), the legendary theatre press agent, whose career included Ethel Merman and Mary Martin: Together on Broadway, A Chorus Line (from workshop to Public Theater to Broadway), Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne in The Visit, Lauren Bacall in Cactus Flower, The Dining Room, Driving Miss Daisy, Sunday in the Park with George, and over 150 additional Broadway and off-Broadway plays and musicals, died on July 31, 2019 in Bayshore, Long Island, New York. He was 97. The cause of death was cardiac arrest. Bob's death was announced by Rev. Joshua Ellis, a long-time Ullman friend, a former Broadway press agent, and now, an Interspiritual minister.
