Young performers in North Texas and Oklahoma have waited all year with bated breath. After a year of 79 amazing performances from 75 participating high schools, industry professionals have finished judging for the 7th annual Dallas Summer Musicals (DSM) High School Musical Theatre Awards (HSMTA), and the nominees are in!

Chance Theater, Anaheim's official resident theater company, is excited to announce the second show in its 20th Season ... Good People. Written by David Lindsay-Abaire, and directed by Jocelyn A. Brown, Good People will preview from April 20 through April 27; regular performances will begin April 28 and continue through May 20 at Chance Theater @ Bette Aitken theater arts Center on the Cripe Stage.

Porchlight Music Theatre and Artistic Director Michael Weber are proud to announce the final production in its 2017 - 2018 season of Chicago's hit musical revue series, New Faces Sing Broadway. New Faces Sing Broadway 1975, hosted by Donica Lynn with direction by Christopher Pazdernik and music direction by David Fiorello, is Tuesday, June 5 at The Skokie Theatre, 7924 Lincoln Ave., Skokie at 7:30 p.m. and Wednesday, June 6 at The Arts Club of Chicago, 201 E. Each edition is a "time-machine" journey from the start to the finish of an entire musical season from the classic days of Broadway, peppered with photos and films of the era in an exciting multimedia presentation with a favorite Chicago theatre veteran like Donica Lynn hosting and introducing the next generation of music theatre artists while acting as your guide through a vintage year on the Great White Way. Factory Theatre concludes another successful season under the leadership of Artistic Director Nina Lee Aquino and Managing Director Jonathan Heppner with Marie Beath Badian's PRAIRIE NURSE, a farcical account of real-life events, directed by Sue Miner in the Mainspace April 21 - May 13, 2018.  This co-production with Thousand Islands Playhouse will run in Gananoque this summer.

Signature Theatre is proud to announce the full cast and creative team for the DC premiere of Girlfriend. Directed and choreographed by Signature Theatre Associate Artistic Director Matthew Gardiner (Signature's Crazy for You, Jelly's Last Jam), this coming of age musical features a book by Todd Almondand featuring the music and lyrics of Matthew Sweet.

The Royal Shakespeare Company's West End production of Matilda The Musical has announced that Sara Munday and Olivia Wells will join Lily-Mae Evans and Savannah Read in the title role of Matilda from 13 March 2018. Seen by over 7.7 million people across more than 60 cities worldwide, the multi award-winning production is now playing its seventh year in London, booking at the Cambridge Theatre until 10 February 2019.

When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that results in a tremendous peach which launches him on a journey of enormous proportions. Suddenly, James finds himself in the center of the gigantic peach among human-sized insects with equally oversized personalities. James Henry Trotter lives with two ghastly hags - his odious aunts - and he's a very lonely little boy indeed. One day, something peculiar happens. At the end of the garden, a peach starts to grow and grow ... and grow. Inside that peach are seven very unusual insects, all waiting to take James on a magical adventure of enormous proportions. We invite you to crawl inside the giant peach and take a peek. Based on Roald Dahl's beloved book and featuring music by the Tony and Academy Award-winning songwriting team behind D ear Evan Hansen, Dogfight , and La La Land, this family musical takes you on an amazing voyage across the ocean. 

James and the Giant Peach, a magical story of adventure and unexpected friends in a family-friendly musical, will run March 2 - 25, 2018 at the Omaha Community Playhouse in the Hawks Mainstage Theatre.

The Orange County Asperger's Support Group (OCASG) and Chance Theater will be working together this summer to present the new Spectrum 'Speak Up' Series. The program is specifically designed for teens that have been diagnosed with high functioning Autism, Asperger's, or PDD-NOS.

Oscar, Grammy, Tony Winning Song Writing Duo Pasek & Paul To Pen Music For New Animated Film

Roald Dahl's JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH JR. will be performed on the Warner Theatre Main Stage February 24 and 25, 2018 featuring the students of the Warner Theatre Center for Arts Education!

A new study by Liberty Mutual Insurance and SADD reveals teens become riskier drivers as they enter senior year. The study "finds that older teen drivers are overconfident and perceive themselves as safer drivers despite experiencing more accidents and near misses (57 percent of seniors) than their younger peers (34 percent of sophomores)." Roanoke Children's Theatre will ignite the conversation on distracted driving with the world premiere of ILY: HANG UP & DRIVE, part of the RCT4TEENS programming. There will be public performances of ILY: HANG UP & DRIVE on March 1 and 2, 2018. Performances will be held in the Black Box Theatre at the Jefferson Center (541 Luck Avenue SW).

The Penny Seats are buzzing with anticipation as they prepare to bring the first show of their 2018 season, EDGES, written by Tony-Award and Golden Globe winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (Dear Evan Hanson, Dogfight, James and the Giant Peach, La La Land, The Greatest Showman), back to the site of its World Premier: The Kerrytown Concert House. Pasek and Paul wrote the show as students at the University of Michigan, and debuted it at the Concert House in 2005.

Gateway Center for Performing Arts' Youth Theatre Company opens its 2017- 2018 Mainstage Season with the A Little Princess, featuring the classic story of Frances Hodgson Burnett set to music by award-winning composer Andrew Lippa and lyricist Brian Crawley. A Little Princess performs January 26th-28th, 2018, at Central Visual and Performing Arts High School.
