Schimmel Center, at Pace University in downtown Manhattan, today announces programming for its 2017-2018 season, consisting of nearly 30 events.

It's coronation day! Today marks the first day of rehearsal for Disney's new Broadway musical Frozen, which will join Disney hits Aladdin and The Lion King on Broadway in spring 2018 at the St. James Theatre. Disney Theatrical Productions has just announced the full cast and creative team for its new Broadway musical, Frozen, which will join hits Aladdin and The Lion King on Broadway in spring 2018 at the St. James Theatre. 

Who will star in the musical? Casting has not yet been announced, but BroadwayWorld has just learned that Idina Menzel will lead an upcoming New York City workshop. Menzel is not, however, expected to take part in the ART production, as she is set to star in Roundabout's Skintight, running May 31-August 26, 2018.

The Cabaret's next season of engaging, intimate performances continues at Indiana Landmarks Center's Cook Theater.  The Cabaret's 2017 Summer/Fall season, which includes nine Broadway stars and the debut of local chanteuse, Gail Payne, kicks off on Friday, June 30.

Caissie Levy will star as Elsa and Patti Murin will star as Anna in Disney's new Broadway musical Frozen, opening at the St. James Theatre in spring 2018. Also joining the principal cast are Jelani Alladin as Kristoff, Greg Hildreth as Olaf, John Riddle as Hans and Robert Creighton as Duke of Weselton.

Well now we know! BroadwayWorld has just learned that Caissie Levy (Les Miserables, Ghost, Hair) will join Patti Murin (Lysistrata Jones, Xanadu) in Disney's upcoming spring lab presentation of Frozen.

The Houston Symphony and Music Director Andres Orozco-Estrada announced today details of the 2017-18 season, which marks Orozco-Estrada's fourth year as music director. Highlights of the season include the appointment of Peruvian-born composer Jimmy Lopez as the Houston Symphony's new Composer-in-Residence and the introduction of Ars Electronica Futurelab's musical visualization of Stravinsky's Rite of Spring, an immersive concert experience directed by acclaimed choreographer Klaus Obermaier

The Pre-Broadway engagement of FROZEN, a new musical based on Disney's Academy Award-winning musical film, will play The Buell Theatre August 17 through October 1, 2017. Denver Center for the Performing Arts' Broadway subscribers may purchase additional tickets December 12 at 10am.

Global brand management company Genius Brands International, Inc. ('GBI') (OTCQB: GNUS) is partnering with Rob Minkoff, Director of Disney's Lion King, and Shane Morris, co-writer of Frozen, on the development and production of a new animated preschool series, 'Rainbow Rangers.

There is a shake-up in the creative team for Disney's Broadway-bound FROZEN. According to Variety, Tony winner Christopher Gattelli (NEWSIES) will join as choreographer in place of Peter Darling (MATILDA, BILLY ELLIOT). Darling reportedly departs the production due to conflicts with another new musical- GROUNDHOG DAY, which is due to premiere in London later this year.

Frozen might not arrive on Broadway until 2018, but preparations for the stage musical are already beginning. According to an Equity casting notice, a developmental lab will be held this spring, with rehearsals running April 30 through May 13. Auditions commence for the roles of Anna (late teens to 20s) and Elsa (20s to early 30s) later this month. Auditions for the Denver and Broadway productions will not begin until summer 2016.
