On last year's "Comedy Meltdown" show on Comedy Central, the comics were instructed to try something onstage they'd never done before. Neal Brennan was tired of the monotony of traditional stand-up and had always wanted to try different tones onstage. That night, this show was born. Three microphones are spaced out on the stage and Brennan alternates between them; one for traditional stand-up, one for one-liners, and one for short confessional monologues.
Broadway star Patrick Page, known for his roles in shows such as The Lion King and Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark, has been with HADESTOWN since it was at the workshop stage. Page played Hades in the New York Theatre Workshop production Off-Broadway, and is continuing in the role here at the Citadel. Below, the acclaimed actor spoke with Citadel Theatre's Sydnee Bryant about how he pursued the role and why Hades isn't a typical villain.

Tina Chan made her poetry debut in 2009 and has been fortunate to be selected as a feature performer at open-mics. She has been published in: Alternative New Year's Poetry Extravaganza Anthology 2016 and 2015; Brownstone Poets Anthology 2016; 2015, 2013, 2012; Nomad's Choir Poetry Magazine Summer 2014, Spring 2013, Spring 2012; and Big City Lit Fall 2011. She is a lively spoken word poet whose writing style is a poetic puzzle. For life's challenges her mother stated many times: 'when you fall down stand up - stand stronger.' Tina is a full-time civil service employee and part-time poet and Yelper.
Linda Kleinbub is a volunteer at Girls Write Now. During her lifetime she has been a database programmer, Cub Scout Cubmaster, and mentor. She appeared on the reality TV show 10 Years Younger. She received her MLS from Queens College and her MFA from The New School. Her work has appeared in The New York Observer, The Brooklyn Rail, Yahoo! Beauty, Front Porch Commons, Grabbing the Apple: An Anthology of New York Woman Poets, First Literary Review-East,forthcoming in The Nassau County Poet Laureate Society Anthology 2016 and The Best American Poetry Blog. She is a painter and organic gardener.
James McMenamin is a familiar face on the poetry scene, as he is celebrating his twentieith year (2017) of reading at open mike venues in N.Y.C. A Queens native, he's been published in various journals, including Brownstones Poets, Brevitas, Nomad's Choir, Performance Poets, and others. For the past handful of years, he's taught writing for new immigrants at Queens Library. Some of his students were selected for publication through NYU's Literacy review program, as well as Symphony Space.
Susan Weiman, writes literary nonfiction, poetry and vignettes. Her work has been published in First Literary Review-East, POST(blank), Citylore.org, run-to-the- roundhouse nellie, Riverside Poets Anthology, Parkside Collective, and formerly on the Home Magazine blog where she wrote about art.
