The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts presents An Evening with Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin February 18 to 23, 2014 in the Kennedy Center Eisenhower Theater. Appearing together again after their Tony Award winning performances in Evita, Patti LuPone joins Mandy Patinkin onstage for eight performances. With loose-limbed storytelling, visual projections, animation, modern dance and live music, it offers a personal and impassioned look at the culture and history of the American Jewish radical left-wing community at a time when this legacy is in danger of passing into obscurity. Theater for the New City will present the play's world premiere run January 16 to February 2, directed by David Schechter.

Now entering its third mainstage season, the Eagle Theatre of Hammonton, N.J., is looking to raise the bar. For 2014, the company nearly doubled its operating budget, expanded the run of performances from 12 to 15 per production, and recruited several of the region's most accomplished actors, including Broadway veteran Krissy Fraelich, Barrymore Award laureate Tom Mccarthy and national recording artist Brian Bortnick.

Last night, Theatre Philadelphia celebrated the past year in theatre across the region by presenting the Lifetime Achievement Award, cash awards totaling $56,500, and a masquerade after-party that featured performances of some of the highlights of the previous theatre season. Over 400 theatre artists, administrators and supporters attended the sold out ceremony and party held at Arden Theatre Company in Old City. According to Variety, stage and screen veteran Christopher Plummer will join fellow thespian John Travolta, as well as Tye Sheridan, in THE FORGER. Directed by Philip Martin (Wallander), the movie is set to begin filming in Boston in October.

1812 Productions will open its 2013-2014 season with Alan Zweibel's celebrated comedy Bunny Bunny-Gilda Radner: A Sort of Romantic Comedy. Bunny Bunny stars Leah Walton, in her 1812 Productions debut, as Gilda Radner and Barrymore Award winner Matt Pfeiffer as Alan, the play's fictional version of its own author. Matt Tallman, also making his 1812 Productions debut, joins the duo in more than 20 supporting roles.
