The New Orleans Ballet Association (NOBA) is thrilled to present for the first time in more than a decade the internationally renowned Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo in the spectacular, full-evening Romeo et Juliette on Saturday, February 24 at 8 pm at the Mahalia Jackson Theater. Shakespeare's tale of the famous star-crossed lovers gets an exotic French twist in this 'gorgeously original' (The London Telegraph), stunningly imaginative interpretation by renowned choreographer and director Jean-Christophe Maillot.

Meera Syal Joins The West End Cast Of ANNIE

Last night (30 November 2017), the West End Company of Annie officially welcomed Meera Syal who now plays the role of Miss Hannigan in the hit musical at the Piccadilly Theatre. Syal celebrated with friends and family, including Lolita Chakrabarti, Sean Foley, Nitin Ganatra, Twiggy and Leigh Lawson and Nicola Walker, as well as fellow cast members. Syal will play the role of Miss Hannigan for the duration of the run which concludes, as previously announced, on 18 February 2018 at the Piccadilly Theatre.

According to Daily Mail reporter Baz Bamigboye, actress and singer Meera Syal will be taking over the role of Miss Hannigan in the West End production of Annie. Syal is well known for her roles in Doctor Strange and Doctor Who. She was last seen in the West End in Romeo and Juliet (2016). Syal joins the cast from November 27 through February 18.

There was a delightful murmur of excitement from the crowd when Artistic Director (and 1992 Romeo) Antoni Cimolino came onstage to announce that in celebration of the Festival's 65th season, a group of former Romeos and Juliets were in attendance!
