Phoenix Theater For Children Presents MANY MOONS 3/13- 3/22

The Phoenix Theatre for Children will present a stage adaptation of one of James Thurber's most charming children's stories, Many Moons, in tribute to author, humorist, New Yorker cartoonist, and Columbus native James Thurber and in celebration of the 25th birthday of central Ohio's literary jewel, the Thurber House. This all-local production boasts colorful costumes, live musical accompaniment, and spirited characters portrayed by four central Ohio actors including 13-year-old Westgate resident Emma Welsh-Huggins who will play the central role. The cast is rounded out by GermanVillage resident Ted Amore, Gahanna resident Ian Short, and Marysville resident Joe Bishara.

SACRE DU PRINTEMPS And ODESSEY Comes To Lab Theater

The Minnesota Dance Theatre will present SACRE DU PRINTEMPS (Rite of Spring) and a world premiere by Twin Cities Choreographer Christine Maginnis in ODYSSEY running April 17-19 and 24-26, 2009 at The Lab Theater. Celebrating the choreography of founder Loyce Houlton, SACRE DU PRINTEMPS (Rite of Spring) was originally choreographed in 1985. Like Stravinsky, who shocked and enraged Paris in 1913 with the provocative and exciting rhythmic invention of SACRE DU PRINTEMPS, submerse yourself in the wild and daring choreography of Loyce Houlton, and feel the combustion of energy between the two.

Transport Group to Present Revival of Shaw's 'Bury the Dead' Starting 10/31

Transport Group, the winner of a special 2007 Drama Desk Award and a 2007 Obie Award, will present the first major New York revival of Irwin Shaw's Bury the Dead, directed by Joe Calarco, beginning performances Friday, October 31, at 220 East 4 Street, between Avenues A and B (6 to Astor Place, W/N to 8th Street or F/V to Second Avenue). The opening has been scheduled for Sunday, November 9, at 3pm.

Paul Cohen's New Drama 'Cherubina' Premieres Feb.1

Nine years after its Broadway premiere at Lincoln Centre's Vivian Beaumont theatre, the Jason Robert Brown/Alfred Uhry musical Parade finally made its way to the London stage on September 24 when it opened at the Donmar Warehouse. It has been eagerly anticipated by musical theatre afficionados in the UK and Rob Ashford's production, with a slightly revised and improved score, does not disappoint.

'Legally Blonde' Awarded Actor's Equity Outstanding Chorus

Actors' Equity Association's Advisory Committee on Chorus Affairs (ACCA) announced today the winner of the ACCA Award for Outstanding Broadway Chorus 2006-2007 is Legally Blonde, The Musical. This is the first industry award of its type to honor the distinctive talents and contributions made by the chorus.
