Meet Dilkes, poet Joyce Kilmer (1886-1918), pilot Kenneth Russell Unger (1898-1979), nurse Amabel Scharff Roberts (1891-1918), 'Hello Girl' Grace Banker (1892-1960) and other Americans who went to Europe when the United States entered World War I in 1918. 'A Year in the Trenches' is based on Dilkes' book 'Remembering World War I: An Engineer's Diary of the War,' and other historical sources. Many of the real-life characters are from New Jersey, including two brothers from Cape May. Live music from the period is performed throughout, and the audience is encouraged to join in on two songs.
Westport Country Playhouse will host a 2018 Season Kick-off Party on Saturday, April 7, from 5 to 8 p.m., offering a fun atmosphere with food trucks, beer tastings, exhibits, and special ticket discounts. In addition, a "Sneak Peek" of the upcoming season will be hosted by Mark Lamos, Playhouse artistic director, at 6:30 p.m. The "Sneak Peek" will feature guests representing all of the upcoming productions, including playwrights, directors, and designers. The concert is presented by the Honens International Piano Competition.

Live @ Peck Pavilion and Peck Flicks returns to the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts grounds this summer. The season will run from July 6 through August 26 and each day of the series will have a different program focus. This year, Optimist Theatre: Shakespeare in the Park will join the line up on July 6-9, July 13-16 and July 20-22 at 8 pm with a performance on July 18 at 12 pm and they will present Much Ado About Nothing. All the events in Peck Pavilion will all be free and open to the public.

Following successful and inciting on-campus presentations and filming of the Every 28 Hours (E28H) Plays at Howard University on October 21st and Bowie State University on October 31st, Howard alums and E28H producers Maleke Glee and Tevin Giddens will spearhead a digital and cross-collegiate initiative across social media platforms to encourage an open dialogue that further expands awareness, and provides a space for activism, healing, and psychological resilience in the face of systemic violence against black bodies. To begin this endeavor, Williams College, a liberal arts institution of higher learning in MA, will join forces with their DC counterparts and produce an event that will spark conversation online.
