I've Been Played: Alysha Umphress Swings Jeff Blumenkrantz will be released on Yellow Sound Label in January 2015, featuring the vocals of Alysha Umphress, currently starring in the new Broadway revival of ON THE TOWN, and original jazz songs and arrangements by Tony Award-nominated composer and performer Jeff Blumenkrantz. Now in its 16th season, Lincoln Center's acclaimed series American Songbook will continue to expand its scope in celebrating the best in American singing and songwriting, beginning with a free opening night concert in the David Rubenstein Atrium on Wednesday, January 21, 2015. Founder and Artistic Director Nicole Paiement has announced details of Opera Parallèle's 2014--2015 season, which will feature the premiere of a new production of Jake Heggie's acclaimed Dead Man Walking--marking the 15th anniversary of one of the most widely performed operas of the 21st century--and the U.S. premiere of vibrant composer Tarik O'Regan's Heart of Darkness. The Baxter's Zabalaza Theatre Festival is calling for applications from theatre-makers, directors, script writers, community groups and theatre companies to participate in the 2015 Zabalaza Theatre Festival.
