Goodman Artistic Associate Henry Wishcamper directs the 1939 classic American Southern drama that 'could not be more timely, as the play's social skewering remains satisfyingly fresh' (Los Angeles Times). The Little Foxes is slated to appear today, May 2 - June 7, 2015 as the fourth production in the 2014/2015 Season, followed by Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, which runs June 20 - July 26, 2015.

The Theatre Group at SBCC will begin the 2014-2015 season with the black comedy, ARSENIC AND OLD LACE by Joseph Kesselring, directed by Katie Laris, July 11-26, 2014 in the Garvin Theatre. Abby and Martha are two charming old ladies with a deadly habit of sharing their arsenic and "just a pinch" of cyanide-laced elderberry wine with all their lonely gentlemen callers. When their nephew Mortimer, a drama critic on the eve of his engagement, finds the body of one of their victims, he soon discovers that his whole family is insane. Between one brother's belief that he is Teddy Roosevelt, another on the lam from an international crime spree and his two homicidal aunts, Mortimer is forced to put his marriage plans on hold indefinitely, until he can restore some degree of sanity into the household.

Music Director and Conductor Michael Morgan and the Oakland East Bay Symphony continue to set a high standard of innovative and engaging programming as they announce details of their 2014—2015 season. The six-concert, 26th season—Maestro Morgan's 25th with the Orchestra-- will feature the world premiere of a new work for violin and orchestra by Grammy Award-winning composer/violinist Mads Tolling, the West Coast premiere of Chris Brubeck and Guillaume Saint-James'Brothers in Arts for jazz quintet and orchestra, a semi-staged performance of Leonard Bernstein's Candide, pianists Llewellyn Sanchez-Werner and Richard Glazier, Notes from Mexico, a holiday tribute to Pete Seeger and more. Now in its 11th year at Carnegie Hall's Zankel Hall, Orchestra Underground continues as ACO's subversive and entrepreneurial redefinition of the orchestra as an elastic ensemble, and this year features the rarely performed orchestral music of pioneering composer and performer Meredith Monk, holder of the 2014-2015 Richard and Barbara Debs Composer's Chair at Carnegie Hall (Monk's Sphere, November 21). Orchestra Underground brings cabaret, pop, and jazz traditions into the concert hall in a program featuring Kurt Weill's cabaret cult classic The Seven Deadly Sins sung by Shara Worden (Sin & Songs, February 27). E! announced today that it has greenlit the network's first-ever original scripted series, “The Royals,” a one hour drama about a fictional British Royal family set in modern day London. Produced by Lionsgate, the Royals inhabit a world of opulence and regal tradition that caters to any and every desire, but one that also comes with a price tag of duty, destiny and intense public scrutiny. It's a Broadway tradition! According to the New York Times, Fiddler on the Roof is coming back to Broadway, for the sixth time since it opened in 1964. The revival will be produced by Jeffrey Richards and Jerry Frankel, and directed by Barlett Sher, who is currently being represented on Broadway with The Bridges of Madison County. This version will be based on original conceptions and choreography by Jerome Robbins, with choreography by Hofesh Shechter.

The Chocolate Factory is pleased to present the world premiere of Catlett's This Was The End, a performance in which four actors in their sixties and seventies attempt each night to get to the end of Uncle Vanya-in a last ditch effort to alter the outcome. In Chekhov's play, Vanya asks, 'What if I live to be 60?' This Was The End performs an answer. It uses the play to pose questions about how memory functions in the formation of the future.
