Audiences will embark on a dramatic and diverse journey with the debuts of BURN THE FLOOR and SHREK THE MUSICAL paired with award-winning fan favorites DREAMGIRLS, WEST SIDE STORY and HAIR.
O'Hara, Foster et al. Set for Kennedy Center in '10-'11

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announced its 2010-2011 theater programming. The season will feature: a Center-produced revival of Stephen Sondheim's Follies; ON THE FRINGE: Eye on Edinburgh featuring new work by artists emerging from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe; 11 and 12, directed by Peter Brook; Chekhov International Theatre Festival's Three Sisters and Twelfth Night; DRUID's The Cripple of Inishmaan; and Penumbra Theatre Company's new production I Wish You Love, as part of the Kennedy Center Fund for New American Plays. Barbara Cook's Spotlight will bring six theater cabaret performers in its fourth season, and audiences will delight in touring productions of Hair, Rodgers & Hammerstein's South Pacific, Wicked, and Next to Normal. STREETCAR May Be Broadway-bound With Multiracial Cast

The Sydney Theater Company's production of 'A Streetcar Named Desire' helmed by Liv Ullman and starring Cate Blanchett was an immediate success when it played a limited engagement at the BAM Harvey Theatre late last year. Since the closing of the show, rumors abound of a possible Broadway run. An entry in the The New York Times' ArtsBeat blog today reports that Stephen C. Byrd, the producer who holds the rights to 'Streetcar' has decided not to attempt to transfer the Sydney Theatre Company's production. Instead, spokesman Gary Springer said on Tuesday that a revival of sorts may be in the works, incorporating a multiracial cast into the production, while eyeing a Broadway run in the Spring 2011.

It is truly the end of a a talk show era. Variety reports that the Emmy-winning The Oprah Winfrey Show will broadcast its final interview in September 9, 2011 when Oprah's syndication deal ends. The show will have run for 25 years. Oprah Winfrey, the show's host, announced the shows end to staffers at her Chicago-based Harpo production company yesterday and will make the news public on her program today, November 20th. The Oprah Winfrey Show airs on ABC at 4pm EST.
