'Precious', Morgan Freeman, Gabourney Sibide Win at 41st NAACP Image Awards

The 41st annual NAACP Image Awards were held on Friday, February 26 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California. Amongst the winners were the film 'Precious' which picked up the award for Best Motion Picture, Morgan Freeman won for his role in 'Invictus' and Gabourney Sibide garnered Best Actress for her leading role in 'Precious'. The ceremony was hosted by NAACP Image Award nominee and Tony Award winner Anika Noni Rose and bestselling author and actor Hill Harper. As previously announced, Tyler Perry, received the Chairman's Award, and Wyclef Jean received the Vanguard Award.

The 41st NAACP Image Awards nominees were announced today during a press conference at The SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills. Taye Diggs ('Private Practice' - ABC), Michael Strahan ('Brothers' - FOX) and 'FOX NFL Sunday'), Wanda Sykes ('The Wanda Sykes Show' - FOX), Kyle Massey ('That's SRaven,' 'Cory in the House' - Disney Channel), Chris Massey ('Zoey 101' - Nickelodeon) and Tatyana Ali (Young and the Restless - CBS) joined NAACP Image Awards Committee Chair, Clayola Brown, and Vicangelo Bulluck, Executive Producer of the telecast, to announce the categories and nominees. The 41st NAACP Image Awards will air live on Friday, February 26 (8:00 - 10:00 PM ET/PT Tape-Delayed) on FOX.

The topic of this seminar is Simone Weil's unfinished 1943 play Venise Sauv?e, an allegory of democracy and its overthrow, presented on the 100th anniversary of Weil's birth.
