Lyric Opera of Chicago announced today that Laura Osnes will star as Julie Jordan in Lyric's new production of Carousel, on stage April 11 through May 3, 2015. Osnes comes to Lyric following her Tony-nominated role in Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella on Broadway. Tony winner Jessie Mueller who is currently lighting up the stage as Carole King in BEAUTIFUL has found her next role says the New York Times. The paper reports that the star will play the lead role in the upcoming musical of WAITRESS, based on the 2007 film of the same name. The show is expected to premiere at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Massachusetts during its 2015-16 season, followed by Broadway.
