The Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE) today announced the nominees for the 20th Annual IRNE Awards, which honors the best of the previous year's actors, directors, choreographers, designers and companies across the full spectrum of large, mid-size and fringe theater companies.

Centenary Stage Company celebrates the artistry of dance in the Lackland Center with the ever - popular annual Dance Fest.  This year's Dance Fest will feature Moe-tion Dance Theatre on Thursday, March 31 at 7:30pm, a double feature with 10 Hairy Legs on Saturday, April 2 at 2pm and 8pm and, finally, Nimbus Dance Works on Sunday, April 3 at 5pm.  All performances will be held in the Sitnik Theatre of Centenary Stage Company's Lackland Center.

Get into the St. Patty Day spirit with Centenary Stage Company and the Celtic rock fusion of The Prodigals on Saturday, March 12 at 8pm in the Lackland Center.  Described as "fiery, fierce, frenetic and … powerful" by the Irish Times, and "Indelibly Irish" by the New York Times, The Prodigals have emerged as the dominant force on the Celtic - music scene simply because there's no one else like them.  They have toured the continent for over 10 years, winning accolades and fans, and have emerged as a band hailed for blending a passion for the traditional music of Ireland with a funky, anarchic energy that is pure New York. Their performances have been called "stunning and joyous" by the Santa Monica Mirror, and "Brilliant" by The Irish Voice. 

The Centenary Stage Company continues their tradition of nurturing young artists by offering the TYRO Acting Program again this spring.

Centenary Stage Company's Young Audience Series returns on Saturday, February 27 at 11am in the Little Theater to present the family favorite musical, Miss Nelson is Missing.  Written for the stage by Joan Cushing and adapted from the books "Miss Nelson is Missing!" and "Miss Nelson is Back!" by Harry Allard, illustrated by James Marshall, this hilarious quirky musical adventure entertains while lightheartedly instilling lessons of respect and appreciation.

Centenary College Theater Department's NextStage Repertory presents Lynn Nottage's harrowing MUD, RIVER, STONE February 11 through February 14 in the Little Theatre. 

The sounds of the blues fills Centenary Stage Company's Lackland Center on Saturday February 6 at 8pm with legendary blues musician Guy Davis and special guest harmonica player Fabrizio Poggi. 'Davis' folksy and humble stage presence, combined with his humorous monologues, made one feel that this was not a concert, but rather, an impromptu performance on a front porch down in some southern swamp. With a professional theater season full of premieres and award winning women playwrights, Centenary Stage Company keeps the ball rolling with Gina Gionfriddo's hilarious Becky Shaw running February 19 through March 6 in the Lackland Center.  A Pulitzer Prize finalist, Off-Broadway smash hit and now NJ Premiere, Becky Shaw is a comedy from Obie Award-winner Gina Gionfriddo.

PUBLIQuartet will be bringing their "biting force and zesty snap pizzicatos.' (Strad Magazine) to Centenary Stage Company on Sunday, February 14 at 2pm.  Named a 2013 CAG New Music/New Places Ensemble, PUBLIQuartet's creative, interactive programming brings a fresh perspective to the classical music scene.  Drawing on jazz, world, and electro-acoustic influences, PUBLIQuartet pairs music from the classical repertoire with contemporary works, original compositions, and open-form improvisations that expand the stylistic norms of the string quartet. 

Mother Nature may have cooled things down a bit but Centenary Stage Company is set to melt away the snow and those wintery blues with a jam packed weekend of red hot jazz.  Saturday, January 30 at 8pm in the Sitnik Theater join CSC and the Matt Baker Quartet in "An Oscar Moment" celebrating the life and works of the great Oscar Peterson.  A little snow may have set her back but hasn't deterred this west Canadian native, "poised to be one of the most versatile and imposing musicians of her generation.' (Wall Street Journal), the Bria Skonberg Quintet has been rescheduled for Sunday, January 31 at 3pm in the Sitnik Theater.

Aside from performing as a solo artist, he is fast becoming one of the most sought after accompanists, sidemen and Musical Directors on the New York scene.  Now he joins Centenary Stage Company to close out the January Thaw Musical Festival with 'An Oscar Moment' on Saturday, January 30 at 8pm in the Lackland Center.

Performances begin at the Royal George, 1641 N. Halsted Street, today, December 11th, 2015 and continue through Sunday, January 3rd, 2016 with a press opening on Sunday, December 13th at 3:00 p.m. A special New Year's Eve performance includes a champagne and dessert reception with the artists.

Centenary Stage Company's critically acclaimed Young Performers Workshop returns this holiday season with a delightful selection of musical favorites in the annual Winter Festival of Shows. 

The New Jersey Civic Youth Ballet returns to Centenary Stage Company for the holidays with THE NUTCRACKER.

The Minty Organization for the Performing Arts, the non-profit which oversees The Minty Awards, has announced honorees for the Third Minty Awards Dinner Gala to be held Thursday, January 14 at 7pm at Nicotra's Ballroom, The Hilton Garden Inn.

Celebrating over 20 years of acclaimed musical theatre training for young thespians, the Centenary Stage Company's Young Performers Workshop Spring Session registration is now open to new and returning applicants. This 15-week intensive program has been designed to meet the needs of beginning, intermediate and advanced performers interested in working in the theatre. The hands-on program utilizes both the classroom and the "production process" to train young people in the theatre arts. The program includes the production of musicals and one-act plays.   Led by theatre, TV and film veteran Michael Blevins, the spring session will run from February 13 through June 5 and culminates in a Festival of Shows from May 27 through June 5.  Registration deadline for all applicants is February 26, 2015.
