The Spire Center for Performing Arts announced four new shows including comedian Paul Gilligan on April 5, New Orleans Style R&B and Blues group Fat City Band on May 3, six-time Grammy-nominated band Roomful of Blues plays on June 7, and Jerry Garcia tribute string band Deadgrass on August 3.

After a cold start to the year, the fever to be able to vacation is already starting to set in. “ABBA” fever has hit Des Moines this last year. It started with concerts with the Des Moines Symphony and is continuing this week. On Tuesday night, the 25th anniversary tour of “Mamma Mia” opened at Des Moines Performing Arts for a week-long run. With the singing and dancing that came from the stage and the audience, how can you resist a trip to Donna’s Taverna and seeing “Mamma Mia?'

During a performance of A Beautiful Noise, the cast led the audience at the Broadhurst Theatre in wishing Neil Diamond a happy birthday. Nick Fradiani called Diamond via FaceTime and the crowd sang Happy Birthday to him. Diamond then joined in as the cast performed 'Sweet Caroline'. Check out the video here!

Premera Blue Cross Broadway at The Paramount will present the Seattle engagement of the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Girl From The North Country at The Paramount Theatre from June 25 – 30.

The show Tarsila, a Brasileira will address Tarsila's life, work and influence on Brazilian culture. With book and lyrics by Anna Toledo and Jose Possi Neto, who also directs, the production has Claudia Raia as the protagonist and producer alongside Jarbas Homem de Mello, who plays Oswald de Andrade.

Actors’ Equity Association will celebrate its ninth annual Swing Day tomorrow, Wednesday, January 17, 2024.

The full cast has been revealed for the upcoming Broadway production of The Heart of Rock and Roll, the new musical inspired by the iconic songs written and performed by Huey Lewis and The News. Find out who is starring in the musical here!

The Royal Albert Hall’s Late Night Jazz series is set to return to the venue’s Elgar Room this month, with five shows covering a range of sub-genres, from swing, jive and funk to Latin, Indian and free-form jazz. Performers include award-winning pianist Robert Mitchell’s trio Epiphany 3, Latin jazz duo Pisco Sour and versatile trombonist Laura Impallomeni with her quintet, among others.

Sydney duo Royel Otis, are starting 2024 with a bang with the release of their new song “Velvet.” “Velvet” is the fourth single to feature on PRATTS & PAIN following “Adored”, “Fried Rice” and “Heading For The Door.” The duo chant in unison across “Velvet”, a foot-stomping jangle of chugging guitars and keys that becomes a cathartic release.
