An explosive play about three Palestinian brothers, MASKED tackles the cultural divide at the heart of the Middle East conflict. Masked depicts the tragedy of one family torn between obligations, kinship, principles and survival. It is the first play by an Israeli playwright about the Intifada (Palestinian uprising).

Sarasota, FL – Sarasota Opera is seeking enthusiastic outgoing people to serve as supernumeraries, or “supers”, the non-singing extras in opera productions, and acrobats for its 2015 Winter Festival Season production of Rimsky-Korsakov's fairy tale opera The Golden Cockerel. Supers will take the parts of guards, servants, pages, and bizarre masked characters (unicorn lady, unicorn man, goat lady, goat men, etc.) Age range for these characters is from teenager to 60s.

Nico Muhly's opera Two Boys has its North American premiere at the Met tiday, October 21, in a production conducted by David Robertson and directed by Bartlett Sher. The two-act opera, which features a libretto by award-winning playwright Craig Lucas, is loosely based on true events and follows a lonely detective whose investigation of a seemingly simple crime draws her into a complex web of online intrigue. Alice Coote sings the role of Detective Inspector Anne Strawson and Paul Appleby sings Brian, the 16-year-old boy at the center of her investigations. Sher's staging, a co-production with English National Opera, premiered in London in 2011.
