The Horse in Motion returns with another unique immersive experience, this time among Pioneer Square's vibrant art galleries.

The production, The Arsonists, is a fiery and absurdist political parable, that puts everyone in the hot-seat. The audience is invited into the beautiful and historic Gallery Erato, transformed for the night into an unsettling world where fires run rampant. As the flames spread, so does the hysteria, as the characters and audience alike are forced to ask, could it happen here...?

Making use of Gallery Erato, the production will take place in Pioneer Square, the very site where over a century ago Seattle's Great fire raged. From the early days of the city to the contradictions and confrontations of this current moment, Pioneer Square is the perfect setting for a play that asks uncomfortable questions about the clashes of capitalism, morality, and political discourse at any given time.

The Arsonists was written by Max Frisch over 50 years ago, but the themes of dangerous ideologies, individual responsibility, and collective action are as urgent and timely as ever. Described as a morality play without a moral, Frisch's writing is both probing and incisive. "I am here to ask questions, not to answer them" Frisch once said about himself. "As a playwright, I would consider my task completely fulfilled if I should ever succeed, in a play, in posing a question in such a way that the audience, from that moment on, could not live without an answer - without their answer, their own, which they can give themselves only with life itself."

"We wanted to create a show that sparked conversation long after the audience leaves the space. Our goal is to open up a dialogue about how to create change, and how to be good; and if it's possible to do both at the same time," said Horse In Motion executive director Ben Phillips.. "We aren't afraid to pose difficult questions, and I think this play does just that," said Phillips. "Plus, it's really funny."

The production is led by director Bobbin Ramsey with design by Ryan Dunn, Mitchell Helton, Bryce Bartl-Geller, Jenn Oaster, and Alex Potter. The cast includes [THE CAST]. Mary Hubert, Maggie Rogers, Ben Phillips, and Aaron Jin are also part of the production team.

The play will open May 17th at the Gallery Erato in Pioneer Square and runs through June 3rd . Tickets are on sale now at The Horse in Motion website. Tickets and info: www.thehorseinmotion.org
