EDINBURGH 2018: Review: THE TAPE FACE SHOW, Pleasance

The Tape Face Show is a show that blends mime, comedy, clowning and physical theatre to create something quite unique.

The Tape Face Show strikes an excellent balance between light and dark. With atmospheric lighting and ominous swirling smoke on the stage, things get a little bit creepy before plunging straight back into absolute nonsense.

Although the show is skillfully performed, there aren't many big laughs. It's an entertaining show but the comedy doesn't build as much as you would expect.

A little too heavy on audience participation for my liking, Tape Face selects audience members to help him carry out specific tasks. It's all done in good nature though and nobody seems particularly bothered about looking silly.

The Tape Face Show is a fun and childish way to spend an evening.
