The Asolo Rep Theatre Guild will host a luncheon at Bird Key Yacht Club on Monday, October 29, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. The luncheon will feature a talk by Charlie Huisking on the topic of "Growing Up with Asolo Rep - Notes from a Sarasota Native Son."

Mr. Huisking has had a 50+ year relationship with Asolo Rep, first as an audience member, then as an award-winning journalist with the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, and now as an Asolo Rep Board Member. A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Mr. Huisking chronicled the growth of Sarasota's arts community during his 33-year career with the newspaper. Today, in addition to his Asolo Rep Board duties, he serves on the Boards of the Charles & Margery Barancik Foundation, the Library Foundation for Sarasota County and the Huisking Foundation.

Membership in the Asolo Rep Guild is not required to attend the luncheon. The cost is $35 for members and $45 for non-members.

Proceeds will benefit Asolo Rep's school-based Access to the Arts program. The program provides thousands of local students the opportunity to attend performances at a greatly reduced cost. Many of these young people are experiencing live theatre for the first time.

For reservations, please contact Taylor Petry at Asolo Rep by calling 941.351.9010 ext. 4708 or by emailing dev_intern@asolo.org.
