San Francisco's Theater Of Others Presents ARDEN OF FAVERSHAM

If the National Enquirer had been published in 1592, the story of Arden and April Faversham and her lover Moseby would have been ripped from its pages. Even without the tabloids, the juicy details were the talk of London for years.

Theater of Others www.theaterofothers.org is producing this popular Elizabethan black comedy by an anonymous author (latest research advises putting your money on Shakespeare and one other collaborator.) Glenn Havlan directs a cast of fourteen as they romp through the comedy, mystery, and suspense that is Arden of Faversham.

The show runs for eleven performances, April 26 - May 12 at the Theater of Others' home, the Kelly Cullen Community Auditorium, 220 Golden Gate Avenue (between Leavenworth and Hyde) in San Francisco. As with all Theater of Others' productions, admission is Pay-What-You-Will. The Civic Center BART Station is three blocks from the theater.

Director Havlan says Arden of Faversham is "a weird play, unlike anything else I know of." This outrageous (and anonymous) Elizabethan black comedy is about a gentleman merchant named Arden. His wife Alice is openly carrying on an affair. When Alice and her lover plot to kill Arden, she hires two street ruffians to carry out the murder. But their competence is questionable. And Arden seems to be amazingly lucky...
