HERSHEY FELDER, BEETHOVEN Breaks Box Office Record At San Diego Repertory Theatre

San Diego Repertory Theatre (San Diego REP) announced today that its all time box office record has been broken by its current production of Hershey Felder, Beethoven. The award-winning piano virtuoso had previously shattered box office records at San Diego REP with his 2017 production of Our Great Tchaikovsky. Felder has consistently broken records throughout his career and now Hershey Felder, Beethoven is the highest overall grossing show in San Diego REP history.

"We are fortunate to have such a great partnership with Hershey Felder, and to have this fantastic show," says Managing Director Larry Alldredge. "We are very excited that Hershey Felder, Beethoven has broken our all time box office record with two weeks of shows remaining."

Described by American Theatre Magazine as "a seductive portraitist, compelling storyteller, and superb concert pianist," Hershey Felder returns to San Diego REP with his latest smash hit celebrating the world's greatest composer, Beethoven. The new production is based on the original Aus dem Schwarzspanierhaus by Dr. Gerhard von Breuning, with text by Felder that brings to life some of Beethoven's greatest compositions. Felder has illuminated Beethoven and his 5th and 9th symphonies, "Moonlight Sonata," "Pathetique Sonata," "Emperor Concerto," "Fur Elise" and more, in a deep and revealing light. Hailed in both its premieres in Silicon Valley and Los Angeles as "Rapturous and exhilarating" by the Palo Alto Weekly and "A towering performance about a towering composer" by The Mercury News, Hershey Felder, Beethoven promises to be his most unforgettable journey yet.

Tickets are still available for the production, which runs now through March 24, 2019, at the Lyceum Stage Theatre in Horton Plaza. Tickets range from $25.00 to $119.00 and can be purchased in-person at the San Diego REP Box Office, by calling the box office at 619-544-1000 or online at sdrep.org. Active military, teacher and senior discounts are available.
