Park City Institute Presents Birds Of Chicago

Park City Institute presents Birds of Chicago, the Americana band led by husband-and-wife songwriter-musicians, Allison Russell (Po' Girl) and JT Nero (JT and the Clouds), Saturday, March 23rd, 2019, at the George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Center for the Performing Arts. The performance begins at 7:30 P.M.

"We are proud have Birds of Chicago on our stage," said PCI Executive Director, Teri Orr. "Their music is driven by the love and courage behind their powerful vocals. Audiences all over the world, respond to the intimacy they create at each show-with uplifting music, grounded in solid musicianship."

Nero, who is from Chicago, and Russell, who was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, first met when he was with JT and the Clouds, and she was with Po' Girl, and their bands would help each other get gigs on either side of the border-eventually opening for each other, and touring together. The pair became a romantic partnership. The Chicago Tribune praised their "warm organic sound, that swings between soulful balladry and up-tempo roots rock."

Birds of Chicago's live shows are known for creating a sense of peace in troubled times. "Any act of love is an act of bravery," says Russell.. "We want to give people some good news. And we want them to be able to dance when they hear it."

Adds Nero, "A good show can send you back out into the night feeling -- for at least a little while - that everything isn't broken."

Tickets for Birds of Chicago's performance on Saturday March 23, 2019, at 7:30 pm, in the Eccles Center are $29, for every seat in every section of the theater. Members may purchase tickets to any two regular shows in the 2018-19 Main Stage Season, and receive tickets to a third show, free. Membership information may be found on parkcityinstitute.org.
