Capital Stage presents the Sacramento Premiere of the 2017 Pulitzer Prize Winning play Sweat by Lynn Nottage . Set in Reading, Pennsylvania, in the face of the 2008 Economic Crash, Sweat has been described as a powerful and emotional look at identity, race, economy and humanity. Sweat will be directed by Michael Stevenson and is the second production of Capital Stage's 2018/19 Season: #SearchingForAmerica. Performances will run from October 17 - November 18, 2018 with a Press Opening on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 8:00 pm.

Filled with warm humor and tremendous heart, Sweat tells the American story of a group of friends who have spent their lives sharing drinks, secrets, and laughs while working together on the factory floor. A powerful and emotional look at identity, race, economy and humanity, Sweat was the 2017 Pulitzer Prize Winner for Drama.
