Trinity Repertory Company is hosting the fall meeting of the League of Resident Theatres (LORT) this week. One hundred twenty executives and senior leaders from around the country will be meeting at the Omni Hotel from October 17 through 19. LORT is the largest professional theater association of its kind in the United States, with 75 member theaters in every major market in the U.S., including 29 states and the District of Columbia. LORT member theaters collectively issue more Actors' Equity Association contracts than Broadway and commercial tours combined. LORT administers the primary national not-for-profit collective bargaining agreements with Actors' Equity Association (AEA), the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC), and United Scenic Artists (USA). LORT Managers from LORT theaters meet twice each year for professional development, networking, and to address LORT business.

Trinity Rep played a leading role in securing the conference and planning the logistics of this fall's meeting. Those efforts were led by Executive Director Tom Parrish and Development Coordinator Lauren Ustaszewski. Parrish commented, "We are proud to welcome our colleagues to Providence and show off all that our Creative Capital has to offer. We also have the opportunity to highlight the important work being done at Trinity Rep, with several of our staff members speaking and participating in panel discussions about equity, diversity, and inclusion, among other topics."

In addition to their meeting sessions, this conference also offers a special opportunity for local students. Organized by LORT's Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee, an Ambassador's Panel is open to all local high school and college students interested in pursuing careers in arts administration. The students will hear from a panel of experts on Wednesday, October 17 from 3:30 to 5:30 pm at the Raff Auditorium on the Providence Campus of the University of Rhode Island at 80 Washington St.

Rhode Island's Tony Award-winning theater, Trinity Rep has created unparalleled professional theater for and with its community since its founding in 1963. Trinity Rep strives to facilitate human connection and has been a driving force behind the creativity that fuels and defines the region for more than 50 years.

Trinity Rep is committed to reinventing the public square and inspiring dialogue by creating emotionally-stimulating live productions that range from classical to contemporary and innovative education programs for all ages and abilities.
