Epic Closes Out Sixth Season With WOLF HALL Epic Theatre Company is closing out its landmark sixth season with one of the biggest shows to ever hit a Rhode Island stage. Based on the acclaimed novel, "Wolf Hall" by Hilary Mantel, adapted by Mike Poulton, offers a bold perspective on a classic story of faith, greed, and power.

"We've had an incredible season here at Epic," says Artistic Director Kevin Broccoli, "Wolf Hall is the perfect way to end a year examining the relationship between truth and power. It looks at the dangers of being silent in the face of corruption and revisionism. The story of Thomas Cromwell might not be as well known as that of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, but it's a fascinating allegory that we know will resonate with audiences today."

In Wolf Hall, Thomas Cromwell is a man of humble beginnings. When a series of political machinations leave him without a master, he takes a risk and winds up serving directly under King Henry VIII as he tries to divorce his wife so he can marry Anne Boleyn. Little does he know this will put him on a dangerous road towards becoming the most powerful man in England, a place ruled by the whims of vipers--and wolves.

"Wolf Hall" is directed by Vince Petronio and features a cast of over twenty local performers, including Epic Artistic Director Kevin Broccoli as Thomas Cromwell.

Performances begin in June at Theater 82, where Epic is the Resident Theater Company.
