During the press breakfast on June 13, the representatives of the Wroc?aw Opera gave details of the new artistic season 2019/2020. There are 8 premiers and for the first time in more than twenty years of Wroc?aw's Superproductions, an opera will not be heard. Next year, spectators will see a dance and multimedia spectacle: dance setting will be created by polish female choreographers of the young generation.

As announced by the Director Marcin Na??cz-Niesio?owski, the Wroc?aw Opera will present eight premieres in the new artistic season. Among such canonical works for opera, operetta and ballet genres such as Carmen (by Georges Bizet), Die Fledermaus (by Johann Strauss), The Nutcracker (by Pyotr Tchaikovski), or Traviata (stage adaptation of Superproduction from June 2019 by Giuseppe Verdi), the Wroc?aw opera audience will be able to watch two family performances. The first one, which we will present on the International Music Day, will also be a performance inaugurating the new season: Yemaya - The Queen of the Seas of Zygmunt Krauze. The second of the family premieres is the opera by Engelbert Humperdinck: Hansel And Gretel, with its premiere in May 2020. In April 2020 the premiere of Baroque, Mon Amour will take place, with the music of the master of German polyphony, Johann Sebastian Bach, and two composers referring to the music of Baroque: Alfred Schnittke and Pawe? Mykietyn.

Apart from numerous premieres, invariably in the repertoire of the Wroc?aw Opera there are 30 other titles, which were prepared in previous years, among them you can find Nabucco, Giselle, The Carnival of The Animals, Don Giovanni, Faust, Halka, Orpheus and Eurydice.

Invariably important for us in the next artistic season will be activities related to the development and education of the audience. Flagship programs include Accademia dell'Opera, Ballet Studio classes, and Amanti dell'Opera which unite amateurs of the world of opera and dance.

It seems to be exciting season full of musical elites in Opera Wroclaw.
