Arizona Theatre Co Hosts A One-Woman Tribute Performance To An American Icon, WITH LOVE, MARILYN

Arizona Theatre Company (David Ivers, Artistic Director; Billy Russo, Managing Director) presents a special limited engagement of With Love, Marilyn, a one-woman tribute performance to one of America's most iconic romantics, Feb. 14-17 at the Temple of Music & Art, 330 S. Scott Ave.

Starring Erin Sullivan in a playful and sensual cabaret performance, tickets are $50 and can be purchased online at www.arizonatheatre.org or at the Temple of Music & Art Box Office.

With Love, Marilyn, written by Sullivan and Stephanie Rosenberg and conceived by Sullivan and Robin Milling, will transport audiences back in time to an intimate "what-if" behind-the-scenes dress rehearsal as Marilyn prepares to go on stage.

Monroe seriously entertained the desire to perform live on stage again. After all, performing for the troops in Korea was one of the happiest times in her life, according to historian Samantha McLaughlin, founder of the All About Marilyn Organization.

Monroe once said that "as for lovers, they'll come and go, too. Actually pretty much all of them are going to break your heart, but you can't give up because if you give up, you'll never find your soul mate. You'll never find that half who makes you whole and that goes for everything. Keep trying."

Sullivan will pay homage to the many loves and romances in Marilyn Monroe's life and will perform such classics as I Wanna Be Loved By You, My Heart Belongs to Daddy and Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend, accompanied by three-piece band with newly orchestrated arrangements by one of Broadway's finest musical directors, Henry Aronson (Rock of Ages, Tommy).

Over the past 28 years Sullivan has performed across the country and worldwide playing some of Broadway's best blondes. Her journey with Marilyn began by originating the icon in a new play, Marilee and Baby Lam: The Assassination of an American Goddess by Tony Award-winning and Oscar-nominated playwright Mark Medoff.

Sullivan also appeared in the North American national tours of Hairspray, Shrek the Musical and Grease, among others
