Tiny Dynamite Announces 2018-19 Season Of Two World Premiere Productions

Get ready for pizza, pints, and plays! Philadelphia's Tiny Dynamite returns in 2018-19 with two world premiere productions, both "served up" with their signature "brilliantly casual" style. Audiences will experience one-act plays, beverages, and pizza in a cabaret setting reminiscent of the great pub theatre offered extensively throughout London.

"We at Tiny Dynamite love to create a welcoming, 'brilliantly casual' atmosphere where we serve up great theatre to our audiences alongside pizza and pints," says Artistic Director Kathryn MacMillan. "This season we present some of Philadelphia's most beloved artists in two world premieres. We invite you to join us, the madcap Marcel, and that master of mirth and manners, Jane Austen, for a season of laughter and surprises."

The season begins with the world premiere of Ryan Bultrowicz's hysterical The Audience Disturbs Marcel's Bath Time and He Is Very Upset with You All, featuring Charlie DelMarcelle and Meghan Winch. Poor Marcel: he just wanted to enjoy a leisurely soak. But what are all of us doing in his washroom? What will he do about it? And why is he working himself up into such a lather? DelMarcelle delights in this exuberant world premiere comedy starring Marcel, his wife, and all of you. This audience-interactive production, directed by Artistic Director Kathryn MacMillan, will run December 5 through December 16, 2018 at Headhouse Cafe (122-124 Lombard Street). Opening night is Thursday, December 6, 2018.

Starting in May 2019, Tiny Dynamite presents the world premiere of what will surely become a popular treasure for "Janeites" and newcomers alike: The Complete Works of Jane Austen, Abridged. Co-written by popular Philadelphia theatre artists and Austen enthusiasts Jessica Bedford, Charlotte Northeast, Harry Smith, and Artistic Director MacMillan, the play is a fun, funny, and fast-paced romp through the masterpieces of Jane Austen. Three nimble actors take on all of Austen's beloved heroines, friends, and love interests--and her incisive social satire--in just one hour. Share a slice and fall in love with Emma, Elinor, Mr. Darcy, and more. It is a truth universally acknowledged that an audience in possession of high spirits must be in want of a ticket to this big-hearted comedy, running May 29 through June 16, 2019 at the historic Hill-Physick House (321 South 4th Street). Opening night is Thursday, May 30, 2019.

Tickets are currently on sale at TinyDynamite.org. Tickets for A Play, a Pie, and a Pint usually sell-out, so it is strongly suggested that potential audience members book now. Seating is general admission but Tiny Dynamite offers reserved seating for groups of 4 or 6.
