Opening night tonight, September 11 at 7:00 pm for the Steppenwolf Theatre Company's new production of Kenneth Lonergan's critically acclaimed This is Our Youth. In this production, Michael Cera makes his New York stage debut opposite Kieran Culkin and Tavi Gevinson, which premiered at Steppenwolf in Chicago this past summer, and is directed by Anna D. Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater presents Good People, the humor-filled Broadway hit about class, fate and economic hardship from Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire (Rabbit Hole). Esteemed Canadian director Jackie Maxwell, now in her 11th season as Artistic Director of the Shaw Festival, makes her D.C. directorial debut and returns to direct in the United States after five years. The Pasadena Playhouse just opened the west coast premiere of the new musical TWIST - An American Musical by William F. Brown and Tina Tippit (book), Tena Clark (lyrics and music) and Gary Prim (music). Golden Globe and multi-Emmy Award-winner Debbie Allen directs a cast of 31 performers led by Tamyra Gray ('American Idol,' Rent and Bombay Dreams) and Cleavant Derricks (Tony Award-winner, Dreamgirls).
