Harvey Fierstein appeared on last night's Watch What Happens Live. He talked about the difference between playing Edna in Hairspray and Albin in La Cage Aux Folles. Fierstein also revealed that he has never seen John Travolta's portrayal of Edna in the Hairspray film.

Harvey Fierstein's Torch Song will begin previews Tuesday, October 9 ahead of a Thursday, November 1 opening night at Broadway's Hayes Theater (240 West 44th Street). Dan Cody's Yacht is now in previews ahead of a Wednesday, June 6 opening night at MTC at New York City Center - Stage I (131 West 55th Street). The cast of Dan Cody's Yacht features Kristen Bush (Taking Care of Baby at MTC, The City of Conversation), Meredith Forlenza (1984, The Winslow Boy), Laura Kai Chen (Her, "Days of Our Lives"),Rick Holmes (Junk, Peter and the Starcatcher), John Kroft (Dracula), Jordan Lage (Race, Speed-the-Plow), Roxanna Hope Radja (Ruins of Civilization at MTC, Torch Song), and Casey Whyland (Billy Elliot the Musical).

Due to extremely strong ticket sales, Harvey Fierstein's Torch Song has been extended for two additional weeks of performances, now playing through Sunday, December 3. Directed by Mois s Kaufman, Torch Song begins previews on September 26 and officially opens on October 19 at Second Stage's Tony Kiser Theater (305 West 43rd Street).
