Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS, and Broadway Impact present Broadway's 'It Gets Better' video featuring 63 members of the New York theatrical community speaking to LGBTQ youth.

This past July, Broadway stars joined in Washington for 'A Broadway Celebration: In Performance at the White House,' to promote arts education. The event featured Nathan Lane, Idina Menzel, Audra McDonald, Elaine Stritch, Brian d'Arcy James, Chad Kimball, Tonya Pinkins, Marvin Hamlisch, Karen Olivo, Assata Alston, Danielle Arci and Constantine Rousouli. The event will air on PBS October 20 at 9 p.m. as part of the PBS music series, 'In Performance at the White House.' As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Sunday's BROADWAY BARES XX: 'STRIP-OPOLY' made history by raising $1,015,985 to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. This marks the first time in BROADWAY BARES history that the $1 million dollar mark was reached, a goal that had been set this January by BARES creator and executive producer, Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell. On April 8, 1992, Jerry Mitchell and six of the hottest dancers on Broadway danced on the bar at SPLASH, NYC to raise money for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. They raised $8,000.

In celebration of the 20th edition of BROADWAY BARES, Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS and Jerry Mitchell announced the upcoming release of BROADWAY BARES OPENINGS, a CD of 13 original opening numbers from BC/EFA's popular annual burlesque show. Each song is recorded by the Broadway stars who debuted them on the BROADWAY BARES stage.

A new documentary, Broadway Bares Documentary : celebrating 20 years has released an online promo as they solicit funds for completion. The documentary is directed by Daniel Robinson and the Executive Producer is Jerry Mitchell.

BWW Exclusive: After 7 years on the road, the National Tour of the Tony® Award-winning hit broadway musical HAIRSPRAY played its final show in Riverside, CA over the weekend of April 24-25, 2010. In a video exclusively produced for BroadwayWorld, cast member Kyle Kleiboeker (Fender) gives us an inside look backstage for a behind-the-scenes peek at how this cast prepares for the show. LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL, based on the MGM film of the same name, plays the San Diego Civic Theatre through April 4, 2010, where it has been running since March 30. BroadwayWorld's Audra Stafford recently caught up with the star of the LEGALLY BLONDE tour, Becky Gulsvig, to talk about what it's like being on the road, how the show has impacted her, and the most challenging part about sharing the stage with co-star Frankie (who plays chihuahua 'Bruiser').

LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL, based on the MGM film of the same name, hits the San Diego Civic Theatre on March 30 and will run through April 4. The city is so excited, cameras captured fans engaged in the 'bend and snap.'

Choreographer Jerry Mitchell received a birthday surprise at the end of a rehearsal for the new Andrew Lloyd Webber musical 'Love Never Dies'. The video features Mitchell talking about turning 50 and choreographing his 'very Lloyd Webber musical', as well as interviews with the creative team of the musical, including its director Jack O'Brien.

It was two Edna's for the price of one on the British television show 'Never Mind the Buzzc*cks' this weekend as Michael Ball and Phil Jupitus shared in the spirit of HAIRSPRAY and performed a bit of 'You Can't Stop the Beat'.
