Earlier tonight at the 76th Annual Tony Awards, Michael Arden took home a Tony Award for 'Best Direction of a Musical' for his outstanding work on Parade (currently running at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre). After leaving the stage at the United Palace, Michael checked it with BroadwayWorld's Richard Ridge to share his initial reaction!

Randee Trabitz directs for a Sept. 12 opening at Inner-City Arts in downtown L.A., where performances will continue through Oct 13. Previews take place Sept. 5 through Sept. 8.

Michael Arden, who brilliantly re-imagined The Wallis and Deaf West Theatre's production of Spring Awakening that received rave reviews on Broadway, directs this rarely staged Stephen Sondheim (Into the Woods, Sweeney Todd, West Side Story) musical. Merrily We Roll Along travels backwards in time to navigate the bumpy history among three friends - Franklin, Charlie and Mary - who begin their in careers in show business together. The powerful and moving story, based on the Kaufman and Hart play, features some of Sondheim's most beautiful songs including 'Good Thing Going,' 'Our Time' and 'Not a Day Goes By'.

Singer/songwriter Ingrid Michaelson just released her new album IT DOESN'T HAVE TO MAKE SENSE, featuring the song 'Hell No.' Below, watch her perform the single with actors from Deaf West Theatre, the company behind Broadway's recent SPRING AWAKENING revival, on this morning's TODAY!

Arden best known for starring on Broadway in Bob Dylan and Twyla Tharp's musical The Times They Are A-Changin.' Additional Broadway credits include the Roundabout Theatre Company's presentation of the Deaf West Theatre sign-language production of Big River. Other credits include Ace, Swimming in the Shallows, Bare, Harold & Maude and It's Only Life Off-Broadway. Arden also joined Barbra Streisand during her world concert tour and appeared in the City Center Encores! staging of Juno.

Deaf West Theatre's acclaimed production of Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik's SPRING AWAKENING, directed by Michael Arden and choreographed by Spencer Liff, opened on Sunday night, September 27, at Broadway's Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 West 47th Street). SPRING AWAKENING's strictly limited 18-week-only engagement started previews on September 8.
