As BroadwayWorld reported last night, last night's performance of Lackawanna Blues was canceled due to a recurrence of an ongoing back injury for star, writer, and director, Ruben Santiago-Hudson, but it is now officially open at  MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre!

Manhattan Theatre Club (Lynne Meadow, Artistic Director and Barry Grove, Executive Producer)’s Broadway premiere of Ruben Santiago-Hudson’s Lackawanna Blues, now playing at MTC’s Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street). The show will open next Thursday, October 7.

Seattle Rep will present the Broadway production of August Wilson's Jitney, beginning February 28 in the Bagley Wright Theater. Directed by Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Jitney was the last of Wilson's plays to premiere on Broadway, where it won the 2017 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play.

Center Theatre Group is currently presenting August Wilson's 'Jitney' at the Mark Taper Forum. Performances will continue through December 29. The production recently held a student matinee, and you can experience the event alongside first-time high school theatregoers from across SoCal.

Performances begin tonight, March 5, for Ruben Santiago-Hudson's powerful and touching solo play 'Lackawanna Blues' at the Mark Taper Forum. Produced by Center Theatre Group, 'Lackawanna Blues' is written, performed and directed by Santiago-Hudson with live music performed by Grammy-winning blues guitarist, composer and actor Chris Thomas King. The production will run through April 21 with the opening set for March 13 at 8 p.m.

Ebony Jo-Ann, a 'Blackgold' acclaimed Blues vocalist, multiple award winning Broadway, film and television actress, and social activist, is in residence during the month of April at Ashford & Simpson's Sugar Bar, 254 W. 72nd St. in New York, for the first time since 2011, to reprise Nuttin' But the Blues, the Sugar Bar's weekly Blues series, which she co-created with the late Nick Ashford. Signature Theatre presents The Piano Lesson by August Wilson and directed by Tony Award winner Ruben Santiago-Hudson. The production runs through December 16 and opens November 18 in The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues).
