In a musical revue game show opening the 10th Annual Rivers and Spires Festival in Clarksville last Thursday, the Roxy Regional Theatre, Clarksville's oldest live theatre and only professional theatre, unveiled its 30th Anniversary Season. Under the direction of Tom Thayer, executive director, and John McDonald, artistic director, the theatre will kick off the 2012-2013 season with the Dolly Parton musical 9 to 5: The Musical. Starring Bailey Hanks of Broadway's Legally Blonde, it will open tonight, September 14.

According to Deadline.com, Catherine Zeta-Jones is set to join Focus Features' 'Lay the Favorite.' Production is a film adaptation of Beth Raymer's gambling memoir. Zeta joins joins previously announced Bruce Willis and Rebecca Hall. Production will begin in April.

Theatre Puget Sound (TPS) is pleased to announce the recipient of this year's Gregory A. Falls Sustained Achievement Award: M. Burke Walker. A freelance director in Manhattan since 1999, M. Burke Walker lived and worked in Seattle from 1966-1999. He was the Founding Artistic Director of the Empty Space Theatre which he led for twenty years. His regional directing credits include theaters throughout the United States; locally, in addition to the Empty Space Theater, he has worked with Seattle Repertory Theatre, Intiman Theatre, ACT Theatre, Tacoma Actors Guild, theatre simple and Seattle Shakespeare Festival (now Company). For a full bio, please see attached file. Mr. Walker will be honored at this year's Gregory Awards ceremony.
