Sacramento Music Circus has announced the casting for its sixtieth summer season. The seven-show season will include the Music Circus premieres of 'Spamalot,' 'Dirty Rotten Scoundrels' and 'The Marvelous Wonderettes' and new stagings of 'Oklahoma!,' 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,' '42nd Street' and 'Funny Girl,' the latter returning to Music Circus after an 18-year absence.

Butler, Rashad & Deavere Smith Lead Arena's First Productions in 2010-2011 Season

Arena Stage's inaugural season at the Mead Center for American Theater opens with three productions featuring three powerful leading ladies - E. Faye Butler in Rodgers & Hammerstein's Oklahoma! in the company's renovated, iconic Fichandler Stage; Phylicia Rashad in playwright Marcus Gardley's world premiere of Every Tongue Confess in the brand new 200-seat Arlene and Robert Kogod Cradle; and Anna Deavere Smith in her one-woman play, Second Stage's production of Let Me Down Easy, which begins its national tour in the freshly refurbished Kreeger Theater.

Pull-Tight Players Present OKLAHOMA!, 7/15-25

The skies are blue, the corn is 'high as an elephant's eye,' and the cowboys and their girls are dancing and singing now at Pull-tight in preparation for the opening of Rodgers and Hammerstein's perennial favorite, Oklahoma! This exuberant and tuneful production tells the familiar story of Laurey (Rachel Melius) and Curly (Zach Pless) against the background of Oklahoma territory at the turn of the century. Curly is vying for Laurey's affections with Jud (Cody Muller), the brooding farmhand, as his rival. A secondary romance between Ado Annie (Megan Roddick) and Will Parker (Peter Horecka) is also developing, while the Persian peddler, Ali Hakim (Ryan Garrett), plays Ado's other suitor. Laurey's Aunt Eller (Christen Sottolano) acts as matriarch to all.

There are only six more performances to catch 'The Amazing Race' star Reichen Lehmkuhl as ‘Andrew,' one half of the happy couple, in My Big Gay Italian Wedding, the hilarious comedy now playing at St. Luke's Theatre, 308 West 46th Street. Lehmkuhl will play his final performance on Saturday, July 24th. Beginning Thursday, July 29th, Daniel Robinson (The Big Gay Musical, Hairspray) steps up to the alter to assume the role.

Casting for the 60th Music Circus season is nearing completion. After auditioning performers in New York, Los Angeles and Sacramento, California Musical Theatre Artistic Director Glenn Casale is finalizing the acting company for the seven-show season at the Wells Fargo Pavilion. The company is expected to include Broadway veterans, including Tony Award nominees, television comedians, up-and-coming young actors and plenty of returning Music Circus favorites. The 2010 Tommy Tune Awards have been announced! To a crowd of over 2,000, Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) President and CEO, John C. Breckenridge, declared the winners of TUTS' eighth annual Tommy Tune Awards on the evening of Tuesday, April 20, at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts.
