BWW Preview: Travel Back to DAYS OF FUTURE PASSED With Standing Room Only
by Natalie de la Garza - Oct 14, 2016

It's not easy to pin down Standing Room Only's DAYS OF FUTURE PASSED, the upcoming one-act 'special event' featuring music from the Moody Blues. It's a concert, or is it a cabaret? It's a musical, of the jukebox variety, but it's almost operatic, and a fringe theatre event. It's a journey. However you want to describe it, despite being built around music from 1967, it's definitely more than just nostalgia.

The show takes audiences back to 1975 to celebrate the 10 Year Reunion of Memorial High School's Class of 1965. BWW Reviews: Standing Room Only Productions' YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN is Frothy, Fun Entertainment
by David Clarke - Oct 4, 2013

After the success of THE PRODUCERS, Mel Brooks gave YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN the Broadway treatment. The ribald musical comedy had it's pre-Broadway try out at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle, Washington. It began previews on Broadway on October 11, 2007 and opened at the Foxwoods Theatre (then named the Hilton Theatre) on November 8. The show closed after 485 performances on January 4, 2009. The production launched two national tours, with the Second National Tour closing on May 31, 2012. Rights to the musical became available to regional theaters shortly thereafter, and many ballsy theatre companies are gladly taking on the ambitious project.

BWW Reviews: Standing Room Only Production's FEELING ALRIGHT is Rollicking, Uplifting, and Feel Good Fun
by David Clarke - May 5, 2013

As I stare down the barrel of my own 10-year anniversary from graduating high school, I found more than one of the characters in Standing Room Only Production's presentation of local award-winning playwright Michael Weem's FEELING ALRIGHT! honestly relevant and applicable to me and my life. And I'm certain I was not alone. Whether you're just out of high school or 50 years out of high school, the individual pressures and dilemmas of self-discovery of at least one of the characters will ring with the distinct air of truth for you.

BWW Interviews: SRO's [TITLE OF SHOW] Cast Talks [TITLE OF SHOW], Vampires and Inspiration
by David Clarke - Oct 7, 2012

On a beautiful Tuesday evening, I visited with the cast and crew of SRO Production's [TITLE OF SHOW], written by Hunter Bell and Jeff Bowen. They were hard at work in their intimate rehearsal space, and I was luckily enough to see them rehearse the rousing "Nine People's Favorite Thing" and "Die Vampire! Die!" If the small preview I saw, the camaraderie shown in the interview, and sheer amount of fun the cast and crew are having are any indication of what Houston audiences are in for, this is sure to be a stellar production.
